Drill Timer

Hey

I don't quite know the name of what I'm looking for but her goes!

I'm doing shooting drills in mah basment and I'm looking for a program either for andriod or PC that would essentially Beep at random intervals at least 5 seconds apart.

What I'm doing is going from high/low ready or not ready to putting two on a target but not knowing when to do it.

I'm not looking for a shooting time, Ie gauging the time between shots etc.

I know the best one would be a shooting buddy but since I work afternoons that becomes difficult.

Any thoughts, suggestions?

What you're looking for is usually called a PAR timer. A good choice in airsoft would be the "Speed Timer 3000 (RF) Air Gun Timer"

There's some free "shot timers" for Android. For example "IPSC Shot Timer".
That might be what you're looking for. Though, I've never used any of them, so I couldn't tell you if their features are actually what you're looking for.

The CED works really well...be sure to get the airsoft one since it's calibrated for softer sounds (vs. real gunfire).

You'll want functions such as:
- 3sec-5sec-random within 5sec countdown (Beep/timer goes off some time after you push the go button)
- string/split time (time from the first shot to the last shot)
- 1st shot time
- 1-2-3-etc sec finish beep (so you can practice stuff like drawing and placing 2 shots before the 2 sec beep goes off...etc...)

Good predictable operation...loud Beep...accurate timer. We use that one on occasion for CAPS...but I think Phil has permanently borrowed it. It would pick up slide racking on occasion as a shot if the peanut gallery weren't quiet during someones run.

The IPhone/Android apps are so-so ok. Some work ok...some are flaky. Last I saw they did not handle ambient noise very well. Worth a try though. Search for IPSC and IPDA should find them.

Awesome!
Thanks for the info Guys! I'll try the droid apps but the CED looks like a good buy too!
