Exclamation A&K/Bravo SVD mag/feed problem

I recently purchased a SVD dragunov from a friend who got it off buyairsoft.ca the package says bravo on it, but all i can find is the A&K version online which looks identical, not sure if its the same one.

Either way, after about 8-10 shots in the mag after a full wind up, the spring tension is released when I pull back the bolt and I am forced to wind again.

The gun is also often feeding double or what sounds like more, I have read this is a common problem although I cannot find a fix online. Both of these are infuriating, if I could solve atleast the mag tension problem then I could skirmish and not worry about winding every 5 seconds.

if anyone has any solutions please help me out!

Get a few midcaps for the gun, the mag that it comes with is a POS. I have it.

However, that won't solve the double feeding. There are many proposed ways to deal with the double feeding (an innate problem with the gun due to the design of the hop up chamber). One consists of tightening the small grub screw behind the screw for the hop up. Oppositely, some say to remove the screw, spring and ball-bearing entirely (still talking about the screw behind the hop up adjustment). I found, for my gun, none of these to be effective.

The third method, the one I used, and IMO, the most permanent and effective solution, is the following:

1.Acquire a table clamp, a drill and a bit made specifically for drilling metal. The diameter of the bit should be about the same diameter as a BB, so 6 mm. Maybe 1-2 mm larger at most, but no smaller than 6 mm. The diameter of the bit is very important.

2.Remove the hop up unit from the gun. If you don't know how, Google is your friend.

3.Clamp the hop up unit upside down into the table top clamp. Make sure it is perfectly level.

4.Place the drill bit into the feeding hole, making sure the bit is perpendicular to the hop up unit.

5.Drill out a small indent into the hop up unit. Just a bit to begin with.

6.Place a BB into the feeding hole, letting it drop into the small indent. Then, place a second BB on top of the first BB and try to push it straight down. If the first BB gets pushed out of the way, remove the BB's and deepen the indent slightly with the drill. Repeat the BB process. Keep doing this until you cannot push the first BB out of the way by pushing down on the second BB.

7.After you're done, make sure the clean the inside of the hop up properly to remove any burs left behind by the drilling.

8.Note(s) of caution:
-Doing this will void any warranty on the gun.

-If you aren't comfortable with a drill, get someone who is.

-DO NOT deepen the indent any more than you have to. This can cause unnecessary stress on internal components, such as the feeding nozzle, when operating the gun. Also, drilling too deep may cause the BB to be deformed by nozzle when it is loaded into the hop up unit

-This process is irreversible So make sure you want to do it before you begin.

Also, this is not my method. I found it somewhere on the internet. I can't remember where.

Hope this works out well for you.
