MP5-J Upgrade
Hi there,
I recently upgraded my TM MP5-J with a PDI Spring & Systema Oilless bushings. I noticed that the Systema bushings were thicker than the plastic stock bushings & so I decided not to add shims. But I was wondering what you guys decided to do with yours? Did any of you still decide to use shims? |

you still have to re-shim it. The same shims may not go in the same place, but shimming is still required to reduce wear on your gears.

Thanks Illusion,
My MP5 originally had 2 shims (I think). Do u suggest I put just those 2 back in or purchase a whole new set for all the gears? |

well... that's hard to say. you have to manually re-shim it. You can't just stick them in and expect it to work. There are some shimming guides on the net - or you can find an experienced airsmith in your area to help you out.
Chances are, the 2 shims are not enough to get it all shimmed properly. An entire set can last through 4 or 5 gun upgrades. |
