.::Turok's Second Build::.
So this will be my second WE M4 build using the open bolt system. Parts are still coming in, but here are some teaser pics of what I have so far. I have a second steel RA tech open bolt ready (pic below) for this build and several furniture such as takedown pins/springs, magazine catch, safety selector, stock tube, etc.
On a side note, I can also attest that ALL the old closed bolt trigger components function with the new open bolt system EXCEPT for the auto sear and bolt catch. Both of which are extremely easy to mod, even a monkey can do it. Although the closed bolt fire pin delay and trigger box looks different than their counterparts found in the open bolt system, they can still be used with the open bolt system without any issues. This means that if you have your RA-tech steel upgrades from your closed bolt system, you can transfer them directly to your open bolt build. I tried it, done it, and it works Last edited by turok_t; March 25th, 2022 at 17:43.. |

Oh I thought you were going to order one for your build.. I was thinking about making a tutorial on how to mod the RA tech M4 bolt but Im not sure how many people would be interested in such a tutorial as I do not know how many people will/has ordered the product. I had to make many modifications for my RA tech steel bolt to cycle properly and smoothly on my gun.
PS: I've been in contact with RA-tech and they informed me that they will be releasing a reinforced aluminum air nozzle for WE M4 open bolt with NPAS. It will be similar to the one they made for WA. Last edited by turok_t; September 4th, 2011 at 03:39.. |

I'd like to see that tutorial, sooner or later I'll be upgrading to the RA-TECH.
And the aluminum nozzle is good news, I have two spare stock plastic nozzles as I've been having trouble with my initial nozzle. |

Very excited, like Boyso said, between you and Qlong, it almost makes me want an M4 but the wallet says no!

Very cool, Turok.
Curious, how much does the DD buffer weigh? And how does it affect performance?

The WE stock buffer is 25g.. the Daniel Defense is 105g including the weights inside.. there is a pin that holds the rubber tip, and the pin can be removed to add more weights if desired.
