Any AK fans?
Hey-o all!
I've just gotten started in Airsoft, haivng played a game with a few friends this past weekend...I the rifle I used was a TM AK-47, and I must say, I was highly impressed...Well, I was salivating, actually ANyways, wanting to get into the sport myself, I was looking over the various rifles of the russian variety, noting the three different models... The AK-47, AK-47S, and the Spetsnaz (AK-74u) I was just curious what the performance differences were, if any. Thanks alot for any help! -Kaar |

Same gun, same motor, same innards, same magazines, different barrel lenghts and battery capacity.
The Spetz has a bit less range, and the S use the much smaller battery only. The full sized AK 47 with the large battery is the best first option of all 3 guns. If you need a smaller one, get a Spetz later. Then everything is the same except the lenght. |

The Ak series in general are great guns all perform the same as prevoius stated, the one thing i do like about the AK series is the HOPUP. The AK performs extremely well and shoots like and arrow on a stock AEG. I would look towards a full stock AK or the Beta, for the fact that battery power becomes a major issue with the AKS. (if you shoot alot) There are bunch of good review out there, do some research before purchasing one

I do own both an AK-47 and an AKS Spetsnaz, and I must say, in over 3 years in airsoft, they are the best purchases I have made. I'm a fan of pretty much all the AK varients out there (Romanian, Bulgarian, Russian, American, Ect) and having one in airsoft makes me pretty happy. I haven't been dissapointed with them, and I will continue loving them at the very end.
You can remidy the power problem (battery) for the AKS by installing a Metal Front Set from G&P, which costs around 100$ - 130$. Note that the Spetsnaz is not the same as an AK-47U. Hope you'll find your way to the AK

You're in the US... we deal with Canadian dealers, it's not very likely that we'll know many sites for you man. Check with some US forums.

The TM AK is my favorite one. I bought AK 5 yaers ago, but its still works fine.
I got AK full stock and AKS both. I recommend full stock. cuz, AKSs folding stock are break down easily. You need fasten bolt or check the bolt everytime , Especially, when you play the games. but, if you planning to convert to D stock, AKS is easier to put it.
