CO2 same consistency and power as regular gas?
I recently posted a comparative of three different gasses, and today I had the chance to chrono with CO2. Same settings as with the other gasses, I get pretty much the same FPS and consistency from first shot to last. So, WTH's going on here?
CO2 working exactly the same as Green Gas? Have the laws of physics been somehow affected in a matter of days? Fox. |

My friend's WE M16 (brass tube) shot 570fps on green gas and 490fps on CO2, room temperature.
The two mags just have different valves on them, the CO2 valve is smaller |

I don't know about you guys but Im running the WE OB scar with C02 and im pushin 550 (rarely see a spike of 600) I Don't have much for upgrades in it such as accuracy but it has the open bolt in it.

For what I've gathered, the FPS on this system is more dependant on the floating valve spring than the gas. And since I had to cut my spring to install the NPAS, it would make sense that you are getting slightly more FPS without having touched it.

The point of CO2 isn't more power, it's reliability over a temperature range.
Due to the smaller valves, you have less FPS, but you'll maintain that FPS over a wide temperature range. Whereas propane tends to fail below 15 degrees or so. |
