I've always stood a good chance at hitting what I've aimed at with a pistol...regardless of the pistol at hand...because I tend to know my limits with whatever I'm using. Be it 3 yards or 50ft. There's very, very limited effect at just slinging shots out for the sake of pulling a trigger.
That said...a tightbore barrel and nice hopup rubber is probably the most effective things you can do to improve the accuracy of any given pistol. A highflow valve in your mag will give you a bit more oomph to sling a BB out there as well. Pretty much every other "upgrade" is more for pistol action/feel, durability or cosmetics. (recoild springs/rods, different nozzles/pistons, steel parts, etc...) Accuracy = Consistency - fame to slide, slide to outer barrel, outer barrel to inner...fit and return point after each shot is what makes an accurate pistol - consistent gas strikes...knocker valve and hammer spring - good spin...hopup rubber and nub/ticklers - good sights - good heavy BBs...consistent flight pattern Forget about max range altogether...focus on your effective range. That is the range that YOU can reliably hit what you are aiming at. A miss that keeps going 20ft past your target is the same as any other miss. |

Actually, what I meant was the effective range not the maximum range. I didn´t get everything you said but are you are saying that the high output valve and the tight bore barrel are all I need for range/accuracy? In fact I am only trying to hit at target accurately at 30 meters and I wonder if a 5'' barrel could do that thanks again! |

stock TM hicapa should do that pretty easily ... BBbastard .28's .. propane.. set your hop up... peg target

Is the stock TM THAT good?!? Are you sure a 5'' barrel could do that?
Then how about a chest sized target at 40 meters? thanks for helping |

Yes, a Stock TM Hi Capa can do that. The only flaw in the design is the user operating the pistol.
Why do you need to hit a target at 40 meters anyway?

how do I know for sure? .. cause I own a pair of TM pistols with slightly (3/4 of an inch... ) longer barrels then the 5.1 hicapa ... and I have on regular basis gone into an outdoor field with just my pair of TM Desert eagles and have pegged people in the 150ft range in the torso with 'relative' ease. now I'm not saying I'm a god or the pistols are astounding and you'll be godly ... I had to earn those 150ft shots and I spent 1 full year using only my pistols changing my gameplay ... those 150ft shots were me sneaking up and catching stationary targets off guard. and why would you need a pistol to be able to hit a target @ 150ft? ... my pistol is my backup as much as my secondary ... not only for upclose where blasting someone with my rifle is bad taste... but if/when my rifle fails, runs outta ammo, hit, etc .. I'm far from out of the game, I put/throw my rifle down, I draw my trusty pistol(s) and I can still fight.

What parts have you replaced in your desert eagle or is it a stock one? Is the bb´s flight path straight when you shoot at 150 feet? thanks |

at the time the bb path was straight with the exception of the hop up bump .. the shot was just starting to drop ... had the guy been 5ft father back, the bb probably would have dropped at his feet LOL I've put so much use through my de's since then I probably couldn't make that shot without some rebuild time LOL hop rubber's are worn down (used to hop .3's barely hops .28's now), loading nozzles are showing wear, and my recoil springs are all mangled but I would put more rounds through my DE's in a day then most people put their pistol through in a season I'm just giving an example .. your mileage may very yadda yadda yadda ... there is a reason TM 5.1 hicapas are so popular and so insanely modable .. they are very very good GBB pistols.
