Gun Case for M4
Hello everyone. I am in the market for a gun case. What should I be looking for? Can anyone make a recommendation?
I was thinking of a soft case like this NcStar but I don't know if it will be suitable. My AEG's length is 31" and the height from bottom to pistol grip to top RDS is 11" I was hoping to find something sized so that I don't have to take off my RDS and would prefer to have some tie down straps inside to restrict movement. I don't really care about external accessories pockets. Obviously you get what you pay for but I am hoping to find something inexpensive but I realize that I may need to shell out some cash to protect my AEG. Thanks. |

If you want inexpensive you can try the single and double gun cases at Canadian Tire. They're made from plastic but are pretty solid and can be padlocked. I have a double gun case (company is Flambeau I believe) and I can easily fit 2 AEGs plus mags, accessories and a pistol.

but those are 52" long...lol (for full length hunting rifles...)
I would go to local hunting store, they usually have "takedown" cases, which are around 32" long...and around 40$ too.... |

I went with SKB for the Systema M4A1. Gives it the right amount of room assembled or broken down including accessories.

As said, Canadian Tire has some cheap hard cases with foam inside.
Travel up to Vaughan Mills and go to Bass Pro Shop, they have nice cases there ranging $17 - $300. Yep, they got some nice Pelican cases too. |

Thanks for the info guys. I will look at what Bass Pro/Canadian tire has to offer. My M4 weighs in at a little over 7lbs with it's bling so I don't really want anything to flimsy.
Another question, should a AEG be transported with optics attached for should they be removed? |
