Airsoft Collector item
Hello All, Couple of quick questions regarding old school airsoft.
I have a KHC Beretta M92F non blowback and runs on Flon B. 1.) What can I use instead of flon B (Freon 12) to run this gun? 2.) This gun is from the beginnings of airsoft around the 1980's, does anyone have any clue what sort of value? |

You can switch to HFC134a (which replaced Freon 12). It has about the same pressures and tolerances.
As for worth? That I don't know. I'd assume as a collector piece, it'd fetch a pretty penny, but as a fieldable piece, there's probably better items (mags? parts? etc.). It's a toss-up. You'd have to find a collector willing to pay a premium above a similar gun's price for its collectible nature. Rarity also factors into it as well. I'd look at what a similar gun will fetch now, how rare the piece is and play up its collectability if you plan on selling it.

The KHC M92F was first made in 1998. Based on Yahoo Japan it has a current retail value of between $30 and $60 USD (3,000 to 5,000 YEN.) I picked mine up about 2 years ago for $35 USD. I have not tried a different gas in mine, but it would not hurt to try duster gas if the adapter will fit the fill nozzle.

Can't speak about the M9 as I have never owned one, but the KHC Maverick was a neat gun.

Yes, it's a replica of a Mossberg 500 bullpup shotgun

Does anyone else think the "C" in KHC kind of looks like the "C" in the KWC logo? Or as a matter of fact the entire logo kind of looks like a ripoff of the KWC logo or vice versa?

But it being made in Japan has no bearing on that. Some of the best airsoft guns period are made in Japan.
