ICS M4A1 Piston type

Just recently I brought my ICS M4A1 out to a game for the first time of the year and now and behold I get the sickening sound of the gears running but no spring compression. I open up the gearbox to find that my Piston is broken on the first few teeth.

My question: Do I need to have some sort of ICS Piston or will any piston work for me? I know that ICS uses many proprietary parts but Im not sure if the piston is one of them.

Thanks!

Any 15 teeth piston will work.

Nope, you do not have to use a ICS piston as you can use other brands of pistons. I have done so for many years in my M4/C8A2. Actually, that reminds me to go replace mine!
cheers

Also, what is a good brand of piston to buy? I'm not quite sure about piston quality.

Better to get a piston with less metal teeth. I'd rather wear out a piston than a gearset.
