L96 spring problems

hey guys

I bought the First Factory spring APS2 for my L96, The Spring has too much girth and wont fit in the piston. Why is this since it should fit technically?

I think first factory (laylax right?) has one diameter for their spring guide/springs. PDI on the other hand, has two. I'm guessing the spring was meant for the smaller diameter guide (assuming this is like the vsr-10)

Your L96 is probably a clone and may not use the APS2 spring. Some of the clones use a combination of APS2 and VSR10 type parts, as well as a few proprietary parts - I think.

I will yield to the Sniper Rifle gun docs here. I don't do too many SR's.

Maybe your rifle takes VSR10 type springs. IF you wish, I can measure the diameter of one of the VSR springs.

L96s (Laylax and PDI) use 2 sizes of spring:

7mm under 130%.
9mm over 130% excluded.

that is the size of the HOLE in the middle.

Both fit the stock piston no problem.

On the other side, VSR springs are smaller and the stock piston will not fit a larger spring.

Best you can do is buy a Modify Piston, Modify Piston head and 7mm/9mm spring guide for your gun. It's not that expensive and you won't have any more problems with it.

okay so i have a related issue. I bought a PSS2 170 spring for my L96 as well as the modify, springguide 7mm, piston, piston head and a cylinder head. However when i set up all the pieces and tried to cock it, something inside felt like it was grinding and it wouldent cock. However if i use the stock spring guide, it seems to work perfectly... anyone know what the issue is?

check to see if the piece that holds the piston in place while the gun is cocked is well aligned with the piston tube, the piece could be rubbing on the exterior of the piston tube.

the wait is worth it. You don't need it right away but get it asap cause your stock trigger is gonna break cause it's made of plastic. i do not recommend the first one. took me 2 hours to drill the metal properly on my gun and zero trigger to make it fit... not worth the effort.
