M14 DMR with 11.1 v lipo

Hi,

I m planning on modyfying a G&P M14 DMR to shoot semi only (Mosfet) at 450 fps with a 11.1 lipo.

Anyone had experience with high voltage lipo / mosfet / high fps / semi only combo?

Thanks

It should have a wicked trigger response, just have good trigger discipline as a 450fps "double tap" hurts like a bitch lol. What is the C value of the LiPo battery you're using?

i have ran all 3 of my m14's with both a 7.2v lipo and an 11.1 didn't notice much difference on semi auto but provide amazing trigger response mosfet is a good idea will save you money in the end arcing across the switch can be excessive with the lipos. non of my have a mosfet but will be upgrading to them shortly and i have gun ranging from 380-470 in my m14s lipo is the way to go.

Suggestion would be a King Arms 11.1v 15C lipo, most lipos you should use are around 15C anything above 20C will kill your switch in no time those lipos above 20c are more for RC car racing

Cheers

I would suggest one of the new Kypom Lipos in a 11.1v 2200 mah 30c continuous 60c burst. I am currently using a 7.4v version in my MP5 and its a very nice high quality unit, affordable too (only $22.99 through a supplier in Winnipeg).

I would recommend against this unit as it is low in quality and you could do much better for the money. Anything above 20c will kill his switch??? I'm sorry but what exactly are you talking about???. I'm sure the FET he is using is of higher quality (programmable) ( almost all high end FET's can handle 40amp continuous minimum and most setups will never draw that anyways). Just because a battery has available amperage ("c" value x capacity / 1000 = total amperage available ) to draw from, does not mean it forces the AEG to use it or over supplies it. An AEG will only draw whatever amperage it requires to run at it's optimum speed. Example, you have setup with high speed gears and 1J spring that requires 25amps to run at it's optimum speed, you run this set up on an 11.1v lipo with 5000mah capacity with a 60c discharge rate, that is 300amps you have to draw on with that battery, still you're set up will only draw 25 amps because that's the full load it requires to run at it's optimum speed.I'm sorry but I would recommend to go with the highest "c" value and Mah you can afford in a battery.

I am personally using an echo 1 m14 with a guarder sp120 tune up kit, m140 spring, element high torque motor, systema rubber scs and Prometheus ash barrel. I also use a passive breaking mosfet (homade, 1000000000x better than an AB). I am shooting 470 fps with .2g bbs +-2 fps. With .3g bbs I am hitting people out at 170 feet.
