We PDW NPAS and open bolt kit
hey guys - just looking for a bit of info before i go buying stuff:
Basically I'm looking into changing my fps and was wandering if the following npas kit would be the kit I'm after. I like the closed bolt design I have and if this one won't fit which one will lol. http://www.ratech.com.tw/store/produ...?id_product=82

Nice to see posters that read the original question... Yes, that's the one you want for the closed bolt system that you like. Closed bolt has the brass tube that the larger nozzle/valve body thing fits into. The NPAS for the open bolt is basically an adjustable firefly valve, as the open bolt is essentially a gas pistol mechanism.

Ok so I guess my next question is. Will my current closed bolt mags work in an open bolt pdw. Are there any differences at all apart from the mech inside the gun. I'm looking at the open bolt conversion thinking damn that looks way better than te closed bolt in terms of overall functionality and durability.

You will need to convert your mags to open bolt as the closed bolt mags are different. There is a kit that is only a few bucks each to do it.

No they won't but you can buy this conversion kit for 4$ each and then they will work.

Ok that seems easy enough but then I guess my last question is. What seethe actual benefits of switching to open bolt. Is there any real reason to?

There are tons of debate between open bolt and brass tube for WE gbbr. It is really a personal preference.
Open bolt appears more realistic compare to closed bolt. It will function better in a colder environment, for example, a winter outdoor game. There are a lot of people call the brass tube system "garbage", "totally unreliable" and such. However, many people I know, and myself prefer the closed bolt better. It never failed on me, and npas works great. |

One bonus of the open bolt system is not having to deal with a nozzle having a bent valve cage.

Well te only problem I've come across so far with the closed bolt is the hop. No matter what I do it's all the way on. I'm gonna disassemble an diagnose methinks lol.
Also with the npas set to be around 330 fps I should be pretty safe in cqb even with mild temp fluctuations at an indoor arena I figure.

Also the open bolt kit mentioned. Does I have everything I need to convert to open bolt apart from th mag conversions and so I need to buy anything else along with it?

with a pdw, the kit comes with everything you need, but any more than one mag you'll need the extra mag conversion kits for $3-5

Sounds good methinks. As much as o don't wanna shell for the mag conversions I may as well for the nice cycle speed.
