DMR Mosfet config in semi
Hi,
I ll be running a M14 as DMR with a mosfet lock for semi only. What would be the gap time between each shot in real life for a proficient DMR? 2 secs, 3, 5? I would like to set the mosfet to that spec. Thanks for your input.

Depends on the situation...
A real M14 can shoot as fast as you can pull the trigger. |

Assuming you are sniping with a scope, keeping in mind the recoil

just as amos said, even with a scope, it'll fire as fast as you can pull the trigger even with the recoil. It sit on you, not the gun, for how fast you can shoot.

I'm no professional marksman, but here's my input having fired a M14 several times.
The recoil is very managable; the muzzle climb and flash is what gets you. It's impossible to keep a sight picture once you've pulled the trigger; rate of fire is determined by how quickly you can realign your sights... this generally always means the further the distance the longer it will take to line up accurately. Take aim and have your friend bonk you in the head hard enough to make the muzzle climb about 12.5degrees then try to line it up again... That fast. For bonus points imagine your ears are ringing and you blinked but are pretending you didn't |

Not Eye Safe, Pretty Boy Maximus on the field take his picture!

go to a range and see how fast you can shoot a rifle with a scope on it.
If you wanted something as realistic as possible, you should have bought a bolt action rifle Shooting my buddy's .270 bolt action with a scope, I can get a round off every 2 seconds tops accurately. But his muzzle brake sucks, feels like your getting kicked in the face everytime you fire. Last edited by ThunderCactus; February 20th, 2011 at 23:30.. |

Honestly I'd say from sighted shot, let the muzzle settle, reacquire target, focus, squeeze, maybe 4 seconds for natural shots.
