Carbon fiber stock/body, any interest?

I started this thread to see if anyone is interested to have carbon fiber stock/body for their rifles, namely M14, VSR and M700.

My friend and I are working on a carbon fiber stock for my WE M14 at moment. The prototype will be ready by late March/early April.

Many of you may already know, but a carbon fiber parts provide large amount of weight reduction, without compromising the rigidity and strength. I know some of you will tell me to "Be a man, suck it up and carry the M14 as it is". But I am know many people would like this the opinion.

If you are interested, please leave comments here.

Thank you.

I'd be interested when I see your final results. I've been eyeballing carbon fiber stuff for a while and was hoping someone would start something up for this.

If all goes well with it I may possibly be interested it an L96 when you and your friend get the ball rolling.

Wish you guys luck on this project.
Be sure to update us on your progress. Im sure a lot of people would be interested in it

Do an M40A3 for a VSR and you'd have a lineup of people waiting to get one.

Seems like every other month someone brings up carbon fiber airsoft parts. I don't think the cost will be worth the weight reduction but that's coming from someone who's strong and healthy. Fiberglass is strong and just as light. And consider that many real weapons use old fashion plastic polymers and they work fine. It's not like airsoft guns NEED a material that strong. Carbon fiber parts in airsoft is just an expensive gimmick IMO.

... an expensive gimmic that one just has to have.
Are you doing any custom carbonfiber, or just mass produced recievers?
What do you see the retail price being?

Why?

The threading on the M4 type receiver is good enough reason not to use it....

The custom is always worth the custom for some

Plus the only thing blocking me from buying a KJW M700 is that I can't find a stock with pistol grip and AR-type stock tube adapter for it.
And I'm not buying a JAE one.

Some updates. The initial mold of a VSR-10 stock is almost complete. We are going to laying carbon fibre for this one this coming week. Hopeful a complete one will be finished within 2 weeks (prototype always takes the longest).

Right now we thinking to also make an outer barrel for the VSR. Because I worry the rifle will be too front heavy. By out calculation, the weight reduction of the whole rifle is around 30-40%. What do you guys think about this?

What parts would you like to be made with carbonfibre? What about helmet?

@AoiShikaku, @Kimbo, @Ninja_En_Short, L96, M40A3 and stock with M4 buffer tube are definitely on the list. But since this is not full time work, it will take sometime to finish the mold.

@Blackthorne, we are studying the feasibility of a doing a M4 receiver, but like what RacingManiac said, the threading on it would be an issue.

@THe_Silencer, @Windows, I complete agree with your opinions. But what if you could carry less weight during a long day of milsim game for something not too expensive. Right now it would be custom work, but the mold we are building would be good enough for mass production. The price is really depending on the demand. What is the price range that is acceptable to you?

To mods, if you consider this is advertising or retailing, could you please let me know? Thank you.

I am certainly interested in a M700 Stock, either AICS or standard Mil/LE
