to increase rof: use a lipo, a hi speed motor, or both even
to increase range, get a tightbore barrel and a decent hopup rubber

your at 1200rpm and you want to increase your speed? lol
Firstly, get a MOSFET and reqire your gun with high quality wire, that should give you an extra 100rpm right there.
If you want it shooting damn fast and it's all stock your going to need;
piston, piston head, cylinder head, gears (torque or double torque is fine), shims, bushings (not bearings), you won't need a high speed motor but you will need a good motor.
Then read this FAQ.... http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=99899
And get yourself an 11.1v LiPo
Anyway a reliable high speed setup is going to cost alot.

My M249 is shooting 1350rpm (22.5rps), and is capable of 1500rpm. Does 360fps, gets ridiculously fantastic range (without a tightbore), and in it I've got a tuned up G&P M140 motor, custom built triggermaster SW-COMP, 11.1v 20C 4900mah LiPo, and prometheus everything for internals, with triple torque gears (not max torque so i dont need a half tooth piston)
In total I've dropped something like $600 for upgrades and I've never broken anything

You'll want the simple mosfet unit if your sticking to NIMH batteries

It's the "Trigger Master MOSFET" that you want and available from DonP. I believe they're based off the "Extreme Fire" MOSFET's.

If you short stroke your piston (some people do up to 3 teeth or so I've heard), it's a pretty standard "upgrade" and can increase your ROF. Highspeed motor and high speed gears as well but if your spring is too strong it won't pull it back because not enough torque will be generated.

Simplest range increase you can do is to upgrade to heavier BBs, 0.28g minimum for outdoor usage.

That + upgraded hop-up rubber and nub.

I'd recommend the ARS hop-up rubber paired with a Shredder's Concave Spacer.

I've used this in several builds now and it's netted me fantastic results so far.
