M16VN Upper reciever removal
How do I go about doing this without further damaging the tabs? I understand that the TM M16VN is disassembled differently than the other AR models
Removed: Stock, reciever pins, outer barrel, delta ring, pistol grip, mag catch. |

Opening is the easy part and doesn't do much damage to the tabs. It's when you're closing it is the problem that most people have. When closing it up, use your thumb and index finger to squeeze the tabs in before closing the two half.

You dont need to remove the outer barrel, unless you need to for another reason. You just disasemble everything from the lower receiver (pins, grip, mag catch, stock, body pin, then remove the lower receiver from the gearbox/upper leaving the gearbox up in the upper body. Then, just slide it out.

Got it. Slid the upper off and then the lower came off easily.
