TM M733 Commando Stock Battery question
Good afternoon folks.
Just picked up a M733 with a 7 cell battery pack. so Obviously 8.4 volts But does anyone know how many Milli-amps it is? I have a Passport ultra Battery charger (Daaaam great charger) if its a battery, that bad boy will charge it (or upto 5 Discharge & charge cycles with cool down between) i need to know if it is Nicad (I assume) or Nimh (Nickel metal hydrate) I have read DO NOT USE THE STOCK CHARGER.. ok i wont, i wouldnt have anyway hahahahah Thanks in advance SV On a side note, I have a bunch of 2 cell Lipos from my Blade helicopters 800 mah, 850 mah & 2 900 mah.. Is there anything special needed to run a lipo in an AEG (I have a low battery alarm) i was thinking more between the lipo and tigger for instance. Planed and helis have a ESC (electronic speed control), is there a product for AEGs? I also have 3 cell but they are WAY to much power Id likely blow the rifle apart hahahah

Please read this thread before even thinking about putting a lipo battery near an AEG
http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=99899 And the battery itself should say what Mah it is on each cell. If it does not, throw it away and buy a quality name brand battery that does 2 cell LiPo's will work, I run one in my M4, but there's lots of stuff you need to be aware of and some highly recommended things you should do to the gun before using lipo. The least of which including a fuse and a MOSFET switch. Again, please read that thread before even thinking of using LiPo. |

Here is a cheap way to watch your lipo batteries for undervoltage problems. http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...oducts_id=1677
It is really all you need if you are careful and conscientious with the batteries. |

My opionion may be biased, but I will chime in.
I had a TM m733 that was bone stock, and I tore up my gears with a 9.6v 600mah nicad battery. I wouldn't touch a stock TM with a lipo if I were you. *enter TM fanboys with their TMs ARE INVINCIBLE!!!!11!!one! rant...

Bah, I have to agree with Spike (even though he knows I am a TM fanboy), but stock TM's are not suitable for even a 7.4v lipo. Stick with 8.4v mini's for it until you get some upgrades.

Don't run theses LiPo in your gun. They will swell and be damaged on the first try. Theses (I guess Blade CX/CX2/CX3) are 8C rated cells. At 800mAh, that means that the cheap battery that comes with your gun is probably more powerfull than than.
For an airsoft gun, you will need at least 15C to be safe, and around 2000mAh for a 7.4v pack. The more the merrier. I had a 7.4v 8000mAh pack in a rifle once, nothing was broken but I probably could have run it for all summer on a single charge. If your 11.1v pack (3cells) is high discharge enough (if you also got a Blade CP/Blade 400 it is too small again), you can use it in an airsoft gun. Just don't forget to change the nylon bushings for metal ones and use a spring that will shoot at or above 350 fps. @Spike: That is the reason why your gears broke. The gears re-engaged the piston before it came back so the metal tooth at the end of the piston ripped your gears appart. |

outstand thank you for the fast replies.. I had Figured a stock rifle would get a tummy ache from Lipos..
OK lets change it up what about a high man Nimh. NiMH 8.4V 2500mAh I know the 9.6 @ 2500 would tear up the gears but what about at 8.4 or 7.2 @3000 mah plus? ================= I read the threads and quite informative thank you. I get the idea My 2 900 Mah 2 cell lipos would rock with a t connector to take them upto a 2 cell 1800. I would like to use the 3 cell 1300 and THUNDER POWER2250s hahah when i send it to the GD for shimming and inspection I'll think about spending the extra $150 for Spring, guide and Lipo setup but for now.. see above

Until you upgrade the gun, a mini 8.4v is the best you will be able to field without any damage.
You can get an Intellect 1400-1600mAh for about 30$... 44$ is quite expensive for old cells (1300s came out about 3 years ago). http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...oducts_id=1069 |

Kos, your info is good, but I just want to be a little more technical....
The absolute minimum you'd want to operate a stock TM at is 15A, beyond that any AEG should have a battery rated to 20A continuous drain or higher. A 15C 900mah battery is only good for 13.5A It's a good idea to stay away from any LiPo under 1100mah! Annnnnnnd, NiMH works much differently from LiPo. A 7.4v LiPo battery that can supply 20A will run at the same speed whether it's 1400mah or 4900mah. Whereas a NiMH never supplies all the amperage you need, but as the cell size becomes physically larger, you get more amperage out of your battery. So an 8.4v large battery will shoot about the same speed as a 9.6v mini battery. When dealing with stock marui or marui clone guns, it's best to stick to the golden rule of; shooting under 350fps = 8.4v mini shooting over 350fps = 9.6v mini soooooo +1 to what Kos is saying I guess! lol |

I love his prices hahahaha
at this point I appreciate your help everyone. 8.4 Mini Intellect @ 1600 is the go I am thinking about just adding a spring guide and 110 spring when i get it shimmed and properly greased. then I'll upgrade to the 9.6 volt mini @ 1600 right? SV so i just tried charging the stock battery with my Passport did a .9a dischrage on a 8.4 setting, 5 minute cool down and a .9a charge. front to back 26 minutes

First, try full auto if you have been just using semi.
2nd, check the fuse 3rd, motor wires in grip etc, etc. |

dont know if it was the reason, stock battery may have been the issue, when removing it from the stock, I appearantly pulled a wire out of the unit, cut the top off try and re-solder, go NO WHERE FAST... ptiched POS battery, will buy new intellect and then start trying things.
and did check the fuse figureing the stripped wire may have shorted it out.

Hi again everyone.
Here is the poop. replaced the POS with a Intellect 1400 NiMH worked Flawlessly. apperantly the ultra weak connection on the battery was causing WAY to much resistance to cycle the gun properly. hooked up the 8.4v 1400 mini and ROF 12 to 15, FPS floating around 260. He is the plan. once the used 1400 dies or when i get a few more bucks I'll get the 9.6 or 8.4 1600 NiMH (likey the 8.4v as higher ROF isnt really needed (Not a spray and pray player) thank said thanks to: Greylocks Smart upgrades thread, My $350 order (from 3 retailers -- shipping was going to Cost LOTS) was reduced to $81 (plus shipping from 1 Easter Canada retailer) I have ordered a set of 24 stainless steel shims and 6mm bearings, ARS bearing spring guide, Modify 100 spring, ARS V2 MASK Piston head with Sorbo pad (new version) and a Cylinder head Sorbo pad (new version). I wasn't going to do the Piston head yet but since i have to take the stock one off to remove the stock spring anyway, why not - then i never have to open the gear box again intill something breaks as no other upgrades are planned. TunaBreath (CBO hahah retired hahah your going to have to explain that one on of these days) anyway thanks to Tunabreath for his thread about Mechbox.com which showed me how to save 150 (including shipping for GD to do what the mechbox Vid shows you) Namely For showing me EXACTLY how to open and mod a V2 Gearbox from a TM M733 (the only thing better would be if the tech in the Video was family hahah) All the knowledge of Various ASC members for their past, present and Obviously Future posts and direct assistance. Stand up, you deserve applause. Thanks again everyone SV
