mechbox issues

k im havin some irritating problems with this damn thing, its a V2 mechbox and it keeps stopping half way through its cycle kinda like it would if the battery was dead, but the battery is full

if i do single shots im usually fine but if im in full auto and i let go at the wrong time and it stops in the middle of its cycle i wont be able to get it to go again unless i take it out of the receiver and manually rotate the gears through one of the windows.

its shimmed perfectly and timed right so i cant figure out whats wrong

any ideas?

does it make a noise when you try to shoot at the mid point?

just a little hesitation, like it trys to move but only the gears load up, no actual movement of the piston, but them when i manually rotate the gears and let the piston pop it'll work again

Did you try using a different battery? There might be some resistant either by a bad shim job or that your motor is shot. I say try a different battery first then go through the MB bit by bit to make sure every gear spin freely and no resistant.

yeah i tried a different 9.6V and same thing, ive taken the box apart so many times tryin to get it to run right, changed the shimming a bunch too, cant figure out whats wrong, do i need a set of high torque gears to help the motor out maybe?

or should i just upgrade to a v3 gear box?

Use a bigger/stronger battery.

If you are pulling the trigger on semi and the piston travels back, stops and then fires the most likely culprits are:

1. Electrical short /
2. Terrible shimming/lube
3. Battery is garbage.

What brand is the battery and the charger?

Beam... it is your battery.

Have you tried with a brand new, freshly charged battery? Or just an other 9.6v mini?

Chances are that your little mini pack is not giving out enough current (max around 15A VS a large pack that can give 35-40A). When the motor actually start to work, the voltage drops across the circuit and it just can't turn anymore.

If you want to check that, put a multimeter in the + and - connectors of your motor or battery when you press the trigger. For a 9.6v, the voltage should not drop under 10V. If it does, your pack is empty or damaged.

alright alright, u guys gotta be right about the batteries cuz i just stripped this thing again, checked for any possible shorts and shimmed it to a T and it still stops half way through the cycle

ill throw a higher voltage LiPo on there and see if it makes a difference

Also, did you shim it properly? You have to take out almost everything except the gears, then shim them, and close the mechbox up and tighten it down with screws, and then see if you can spin the gears through where the cylinder normally sits.

Closing it without screwing it down doesn't let you know if you shimmed it properly. Let us know what you did.
