Its definitely not a bad purchase at all, the new generation SRCs are quite a bit further up the quality ladder than their predecessors. Its a decent quality item and there are definitely worse things you could waste your money on. Like low end non columbian cocaine and pre op transvestite hookers name Brandeen.

I almost want a bad review on this gun. I am really cautious about buying online especially something this expensive.

The problem with online reviews is that people set pretty low expectations. I have rarely found a negative review on anything. Even stuff that I personally think is made very poorly or of low quality.
When you read a review is this from someone who just got there first decent quality AEG and doesnt know any better that for another 40-50 dollars you can get something FAR better than the SRC? Most of the time that is the case. I suggest you look at the KWA lineup over the SRC. As a guntech/airsmith i have had nothing but problems with SRC guns. Gen 3 guns are better but they are still really pooh IMO. PS: As a sarcastic reply that 400 dollars would be better spent on a post secondary education or high yield mutual funds |

From the look of that write up, I'd say you're looking at buying from Ken at 007 Airsoft.
He's highly recommended, great to deal with, and is a member on here, so maybe track him down and ask him questions directly. I know he's also VERY prompt in replying to inquiries through his website. he swears by the Gen 3 SRC's. I have an SRC Gen3 G36E (Actually a MG36)
I also had a KWA rifle in the past. (Two years ago I think) I can tell you that I was really impressed with the SRC. Build quality and finish is really up the charts. Not up there with CA and ARES, but still. The mechbox itself is VERY good. Large 8mm bearing, aluminium piston head, cylinder head and bearing spring guide. A decent quality polycarbonate piston too. The only flaw I see is that the gears shafts are made of some weaker matherial than the gears themself. I would suspect some brass. The metal hop-up unit does it's job properly. You might find that the inner barrel tends to spin inside the chamber. That is because I have seen some barrel clips that where not molded properly. An easy fix with an exacto. The KWA I had nothing but problems. I bought the gun in march and had it working late november... (I am a guntech, so it's not because I don't know what to do). The hop-up chamber was not molded properly, and was sitting crooked to the side, catching the nozzle occasionaly. Easy fix if the barrel assembly was TM/CA compatible. It is not. The two tabs on the sides of the hop-up unit are made one small, one large. That makes the TM hop-up unit rattle in the gun. The KWA hop-up unit is also a tad bit longer, so the retainer tabs are further inside the barrel assembly (creating a huge airleak with a TM unit). Mechbox components where ok. Standard plastic parts everywhere. Bearings in the mechbox and good gears. The bearings where 7mm and 8mm, so changing them cost two complete sets. |

Thank you all for the reviews. I did contact Ken and I see he does also swear by the Gen 3's. It appears I can trust doing business with him.
How much extra would it cost to upgrade the Gear shafts could i have some improved ones fabricated? I think I have been convinced enough to order the gun from Ken. I am really exited. Ps. not sure how much secondary education i could get for $400 unless hookers count as profs. Pss. I just finished taking apart my brothers Mp5 and Im not sure if I ever want to do that again problem after problem after problem and now that its back together i have screws left over and a small mettle tube with a cut trough it... not a clue where that goes. |

While not always completely true, 95% of the time when it comes to airsoft guns, the more expensive they are the better the product is.

you might wanna hold off for the Uncontrolled Firearm version of ARES G36 to be in Canada. They beat SRC is almost every thing in respect. THe HK price is around $350 so expect around $500 (same price as SRC) but it comes with licensed white trade (painted I think)
