Fuse issue

Alright so my fuse blew in my M4 its a small 20 amp glass fuse, locally I cant find this fuse. Someone told me that its fine to direct wire them, just as an added chance of frying motor. My question is thoughts on direct wiring? or dose anyone know where to find that fuse? for Locals I have tried, source and SMI and some other place by SMI.

You can get this fuse at any automotive supply store, Cdn Tire, and many other sources.

And yes, you can direct wire. However, I would make sure there's nothing wrong with the gun before removing the fuse and hard-wiring it.

You don't need the fuse but if you decide to bypass it you will just need to be more careful when playing with that gun.

I know a bunch of people that the first thing they do when they get a new gun is remove the fuse.

It is safer running the gun with a fuse but not needed thats for sure

What Voodo said is correct for the most part. However, to expand on my original reply, usually, a fuse blows where there's an electrical problem with the gun. Sometimes, it can be just because you overheated the fuse with sustained full auto, but generally, if you blew a fuse, there's something wrong in the gun. Bypassing the fuse when there's an electrical problem already present is not a good idea.

yeah, you just need to know if the fuse blew because it was crap, or pre-broken as I've seen before, or because the gun has a problem ( mechbox seizing, short-circuit...)

In short, if you have to ask... then you'll need it. Once you're more familiar with the internals and how they work , you can decide whether or not to bypass the fuse.

Cantire sells the fuses in the automotive dept. you can use the 32V20A fuses if they're out of the 250's.

All my guns except my AUG have been straight wired, no fuses.. never had an issue. With s-system and AK-wth-huge-battery I had to remove them to make it fit.

You can also wire it with a higher quality blade automotive fuse (change the holder as well) if I am correct?

My GBBR came pre wired without a fuse

No fuse is not too risky as long as you stop pressing the trigger if your mechbox seize.

If you pull the trigger and nothing happens, STOP AND FIND THE PROBLEM or youll fry your motor.

Before anything, op, check your wireing as the fuse was blown for a reason. Usually (especially if the gun is new) the problem is a wire that has been exposed. Check all wires for breakage and exposed wire, especially at places they bend or could get pinched. Electrical tape will seal and stop the short, replace fuse (I just grabbed a bus pack of 4 or five) and test again until its all good.

Thanks guy, your always super helpful. If i can find the fuse i'll stick with the fuse, if not i'll direct wire. I just picked up an ICS L85, it has a blade fuse, so I may add one of those in instead on the M4

I solved my issue by changing the glass fuse out for a blade fuse, worked great.

Don't you know that your AEG CAN AND WILL work completely wet?

A DC electric system will work no problem. As long as the BATTERY is not soaked, the motor can run underwater.
We are talking about a DC 8-12v 10A system... not an AC 120V 15A...

They're correct. Dc circuits will run fine under water provided the battery is not wet ad ur using sub 50V power supply. On the other hand I'd love to see an aeg on 120v haha.
