Ok got a few questions for you people, I want to do a SEAL impression of OEF1, I have very few pics of this timeframe,
Here's what I have so far:

-Eagle 3A pack (black)
-DCU (raided shirt)
-M4
-boonie hat/MICH tc-2000/baseball cap

Ok so now for what I don't know:

-What kind of rig should be ok?
I currently have an Alice belt kit but I'm afraid that it's not the most accurate kit of all. I saw pics of SEAL wearing some sort of "cross draw" vest but I'm unsure of the model. Were chest rigs worn by that time (LBT perhaps?). I also came upon pics of guy wearing Kandahar Plate Carriers.

-What footwear is acceptable?
Merrel (or any kind of hiking *****) or desert boots?

Thanks for your help

*Edit: LOL s-h-o-e-s is now a swear*

Alright well, after spending a lot of money and time on my gear, my M4 cried every night from the amount of neglect I gave her (In fact, she was in pieces for most of the last year...). So I decided to start giving her some loving and this is what happens =/. Bought a whole new M4 that came with a SystemA mechbox, essentially pulled the mechbox out and the went out and bought a whole G&P front end and metal body.

Very much still a WIP, but things are moving forward nice and good. Waiting on time to do some mechbox work and more golds so I can buy the remaining parts that I want / need...

I'm labeling her as a NSW blaster, as I'm not able to properly say whether or not the gun I am basing her on is used by DevGru or a regular Frogman. It's pretty common knowledge now that now days pretty many SEALs are using accessories that they find work best for them.

Based on

Actual gun

Don't worry all you trade crazed people, I will be giving it a nice (as in beaten up) paint job to mask those unsightly Lightfighter trades...

Kit list:
VFC AN/PEQ2
Real KAC VertGrip
Real Magpul Railguards
Magpul PMag
Magpul MIAD gen 1

I'm still on the fence on what kind of flash suppressor I want to put on her. All of my contacts are telling me that they are just using what ever tickles their fancy.

The SEAL Special Operation Peculiar Modification kit (SOPMOD) is issued to everyone in the teams. It is the most widely used weapon system in SOCOM today. This M4 has a 14 inch barrel on it, used for land warfare missions. In the upper right-hand corner of the case is the 10 inch barrel used for CQB missions.

The two uppers have different types of sights. On the 14 inch barrel there is a 1x-4x power scope optic, on the handrail there is a visible and IR laser aiming device.

The 10 inch upper has an EOTECH holographic sight as well as a light. There is also a P226 9mm handgun in the case.

In the lower corner is the pistol light which can be quickly attached as well as the suppressor for the M4, and back up iron sight. There is also a binocular set and monocular set of night vision goggles. The small cases are for long-term storage of some of the components to the kit.

I know this is probably answered before but what do the SEALS boarding unit use as their BDU? I have everything needed to complete this set minus the BDU.

I cant tell if they use BDU or Coveralls

I'm using this pic as a reference.

http://www.pf-militarygallery.com/im...hoto_01_dp.jpg

And if anyone knows where I can get a BDU like that that'd be appreciated.

I was looking around at a few photos when I came across your forums. I am really impressed by your impressions. I live in Sacramento, California and I am planing on a trip to Matthew Axelson's grave to pay my respects. The memorial web site is www.mattaxelson.com/ take a look if you have never been there you will get allot of help. Although some of the pics from that site are on here.

Keep up the good work. I will post my pics later if you all care to see the crazy Californians impressions

Beards are seen as a symbol of manhood. SOFs tend to work with the local population and a beard would ease the interaction between them. It also helps to blend in with the locals. Something that you would want to do when you're operating in small groups. It is not that they do not have the time to shave.
