Pre-Charged Pneumatic (PCP) air guns http://www.prechargedairguns.com/index.html That ~300 shots is without any blowback functionality though. Most PCP air guns (at least the ones I saw) use either revolver-like "magazine" or are "breach-loaded" (for lack of a better word) Still, would be nice to see an adaptation to airsoft indeed |

i would say its a lubrication or bb problem.
polarstars dont use conventional mechboxes and they still foul. however little friction your barrel has, it will always foul to some degree. major issue with fouling from bbs, is to prevent it you need to clean them, and bio bbs start degrading in water.... |

Paintball has a First Strike rounds that out performs normal paintball with much better ballistics and range.
Pretty sure it can be applied to airsoft bb's |

Oh we do hate you, just never felt like wasting the time to give you a user title :P

the problem with those airfin "bb's" is two fold, first they are not heavy enough and two no hop up, yes i know the fins are spose to stablize the flight but because they are flat fins the dont put any spin on it so it doesnt help much then they only weigh .16g or .19g or something light like that, on top of it all if you loaded one of those in a standard airsoft gun it wouldnt get a propper airseal cause the fins would be in the hop rubber and the bb part would be mostly out.
it does have some potential if it were a heavier round with some angle on the fins but would require a modified hop up or would have to be the new standard and hop ups (i guess they would just be air seal chambers at this point) would have to be redesigned. they tried, then shortly after they put out a new version of their inner barrel with a hop up, i must say tho, their lil shell ejecting design is fun, and the "shells" are cheap enough that u dont have to pic em up. Someone should design a gbbr with that feature lol

Firststrike is different concept than the fin ...

I wish also they build M249 box mag with 200 rounds (realistic) with no motor to feed the gun, just like the RPK. One spring and that's it.. keep it simple!

These people are idiots.
The ONLY, and I mean ONLY reason a BB goes further than 80ft is solely because of the backspin on it creating an airfoil that fights against gravity. No backspin, no airfoil, no forces counter gravity, no extra range. Not only does side spin not help range at all, but at low velocities it will have the same effect as backspin. You'll have a sideways magnus effect that will simply veer off all your rounds to one side. You look at real guns, rifling doesn't help the trajectory or range at all, it only increases accuracy. |

I'm waiting for someone to design a brushless motor in the right form factor with a small ESC for our guns and for them to start to be commonplace but until then I guess were stuck with brushed motors. THAT would be the next big thing IMO. Also brushless inrunners can get crazy speeds (albeit low torque) so those guys who love shooting laserbeams of BB's can rejoice and are that much closer to getting >9000 RPS.

Tackleberry makes nice ones :-P
Though I'm no expert, I agree it's odd that his "fix" has been staring them in the face all this time yet they don't just do it from the factory... |
