A Total Bastard

My experience is that the mods do actually do a lot of hand wringing and discussion about such situations but its also balanced with the knowledge that any reaction they have creates precidents that may not necessarily be healthy ones, or ones you're known for taking. The worst is the perception of 'taking sides' on an issue that is outside the EUA of this board, or 'inaction' which in of itself is a form of action. I don't think there is a right on wrong answer, I think there are varying degrees of consequence for actions. But, if you have an idea on the matter, I'm quite sure it will be heard, be sure of that. Some of the best ideas this board has adopted in the past originated from its userbase. Last edited by Scarecrow; June 16th, 2009 at 11:58.. Reason: grammer |

Seems like we ratteling his cage a bit.. we called him the other day (on a number I got from one of you guys, the number from the whois is disconnected) and had a very interesting conversation with him where he completely denied having anything to do with the company, and hung up.
Also he took his forums down: http://www.felixtactik.com/forum/

If you haven't done so already, I still strongly urge you to contact Danish authorities (federal?), Interpol or the RCMP via the RECOL.ca website; I'm certain they have much better tools at their disposal to track someone down than we have, and $4000 is a considerable sum. I'm certain they could at very least look into it.

I will be doing that this weekend. My bank is already working on a chargeback (which will probably make paypal go ballistic, but we'll see).

I hope he gets charged.
They don't happen often, but these threads (well, the reason these threads are started) make me sick. Why can't everyone just be honest? *sigh*

We got our money
We lodged a formal complaint with the credit card company, and suddenly the tone of PayPals emails changed dramatically, and they just wanted to know if I wanted the money back or not

Good news. I'm very happy for you.
I just hope paypal will help everybody blocking THE CAT/Felix Tactik account. I hope paypal ask THE CAT to pay for the bill See ya.

Wow I have been watching this thread, and I am just glad that I did not order anything. His gear appeared to be of decent quality, to bad he cannot run an honest business. Even if he had run into hard times, that is no excuse to duck and cover.
It would be nice to have Canadian made combat clothing in various patterns.

Having been absent from the ASC boards for quite a while, I only just discovered this thread becuase of a comment a reader left about the Chinese Highland camo article on my Blog: http://strikehold.wordpress.com/2009...ge-tibet-tarn/
As you can see, I did actually get some stuff from Walter / The Cat / Felix Tactik. In addition to the set of Chinese Highland camo BDUs and Anorak (which I helped him source the cloth for), I also received a set in his own-design of multi-scalar woodland camo and a set of his Vegetato stuff... So, I just wanted to point out - in fairness - that it wasn't all a disaster with FT. The story I heard from Walter before he disappeared was that he'd had a break-in at his workshop/factory and a lot of his stuff was stolen (PCs, etc.), and then that he also had a close relative who got sick and needed to be looked after. At any rate, he seems to have closed shop for good. Too bad, he was actually starting to develop some interesting stuff. |
