+1 to never UPS again
I have ordered a 3000$ laptop off e-bay. Took 3 months before it cleared customs. It was shipped twice, and both times it got stuck and left there over 2 months. I finally got it because the seller was a canadian, and he had to travel to the states for buisness. Brought it back with him, and I got it 2 days after. Traded 5 G36 mags a few weeks ago. They first "couldn't find my appartement", then lost the parcel on the return shipment. Then they dropped it to the next door because I was not home. The guy though he was "doing the right thing". He also forgot to mention where it was supposed to go (the adress was torn-off by the driver when he gave it to my neighbourg. BTW I lived at a dorm-like place on my school campus. Luckily, they didn't opened the box. And I managed to get it. I had to pay a 200$ brokeage fee on a 310$ order about 2 years ago. (Not AS related). Damn, the box was about 10"x12"x5"! Fuck never UPS again. |

Welcome to the world of private couriers; ie., UPS/Purolator/FedEx, Etc.! Sorry it had to be such an expensive and harrowing experience.
For those who are unaware of the rules they operate under suffice to say that whenever any package (not letter) crosses an internatinal border, they will charge YOU a brokerage fee to legally clear customs and to deliver the goods to you. This usually means about an 80% charge on top of what you paid for the item. Those blood sucking parasites who Canada Post work for (Rev Canada) only charge either $5, or $8, to process the same package, plus the requisite duties and taxes. Either way, it's highway robbery. But, I would rather pay Canada Post. The lesser of the evils. I never buy from an international seller who does not offer postal service of one form, or another. CBS is sure taking a long time to inspect 2 pieces of plastic and 2 pieces of aluminum (front grips and flash hiders)
i took one day for the items to travel from hong kong to canada, but its been sitting at the border for the last 4-5 days |

4-5 days is not bad at all. Obviously you didn't read the entire thread.

The items are still at the border and i am going to my first game on saturday, so that should change the context. Plus, my buddy paid $25 to get the items here (as advertised by ehobby) in 3-5 days (before saturday) and now we are doubting if the stuff gets here on time. We havent really ordered much from ehobby so i guess well just have to play the waiting game. Edit: read that some items were held for a month-wow |

Thats strange, normally spring time has the highest rates of inspection because thats when they hire summer staff and train them, so inspect almost everything.

That's the time it takes to get to your country, not to you. They have no control over what Canadian customs does.
