1. Working charging handle?/Does the dust cover open and bolt pull back?
Yes it reveals the hop up unit and theres a functionnal bolt lock

2. Whats metal and whats plastic?
Everything except stock and grip (just like the real one)

3. Does it come with the silencer?
Yes
4. Whats the normal flash hider look like? (without the silencer)
No flash hider
5. I'm a little skeptical about electric sniper rifles. Hows it perform?
Pretty good if well tuned.

6. Come with battery/charger and all? Or do I have to get some aftermarket crap, and if so, what size battery should I use (9.6... 10.8)?
No, if upgraded to around 450fps or what ever are youre field limits, 10,8v 2500mAh should be used (depending on upgrades)

thanks much for any help mate.
There's your answers.

Is the CA SR-25 receiver a one piece metal?

Its an armalite with a different exterior design to also accompany the 7.62. So its made of two halves the upper and the lower. Those halves are solid one piece.

Thx stokes I knew it was made of an upper and lower part, but i was scared that ether the top or bottom (or both) parts were 2 parts each which would make for some easy breaking.

Thumbs up

thanks much for the info SEALs, and yeah Ronan, its just like normal quality AR receivers. Just bigger, bulkier, to deal with the 762 round. And instead of a rounded edge at the end of the upper receiver it's got two blunt cut edges, which actually help it stay in position better, I think.

But the CA actually has a working bolt lock? sweet.

Ok, first a couple of things. The dust cover does open, but not with the charging handle. It doesn't open up like TM M4s. You literally have to open the thing up.

Yes the receiver is larger, but not just in the magwell (to accomodate the airsoft 7.62 as opposed to 5.56). The upper receiver is larger, but this also means the mechbox is larger (not your standard V2). This isn't too much of an issue, except when trying to put a stronger spring in. If you have one of the original CA SR25s, you may have a helluva time finding a spring. If you have one of the later batches, no worries because it comes shooting over 400fps stock.

Up until recently, the only mags offered by CA were hicaps. These aren't everybody's cup of tea (mine), but now there are 150s available.

Read some reviews. Kanyon's is a great example of one of the original batches. I wrote a review on the later versions, but there are quite a few elsewhere. It is a great gun, just know what you're getting.

I just bought my CA25 brand new. Does that mean it's one of the newer versions?? I also got the 150s mag since 470 is to unrealistic for me. Still wish for smaller than 150 tho.

If you bought it new, then odds are that you got the new version, but there is only one way to find out for sure, chrony it. Where did you get it from? (that might also be a clue)
