Is Capt Major a new rank?

I never said I knew everything.

Guess what, you get to break in your new desert boots before going over, plus they don't take that long to break in.

You get temped loan AR CADPAT for tours, an not for FTXs. There just isn't enough of it in the system an prority goes to the troops going overseas.

Does it really matter if you don't have AR CADPAT for a weekend or a 1 week ex in Yakima, Wa or whereever, does it effect the quality of training? I'd rather have the people going on ROTO get it, than a bunch of Reservists getting it for a FTX. Plus how often do you train in a desert enviroment? Since your in Alberta, you probably goto Wainright a lot, don't really need AR there.

Plus if your TW CADPAT is faded, an gets covered in the dust, etc you don't stick out as much.

Nothing against the point you are pressing MikeL, I agree totally with you, but ROFL, why would they have and issue rain gear in AR CADPAT since it’s only being used in Afghanistan Theater at the moment. I don’t think it rains that often to need rain gear....
Actually it does rain a bit in Afghanistan, not a whole lot like places here, but it does rain in A-Stan. An they want the guys to be able to blend in to their area, etc. An it also snows in parts of the country aswell.

Cool, thanks for the info. But then again, it does make sense that they would have rain gear in AR since our troops would stick out like sore thumbs in OD or Temperate CADPAT.

And i agree that roto's should get it first but i think. It would make just that much more sense to put out the money to fully supply the military instead of simply covering the overseas troops. And your talking about quality of training. the idea of simulation training is to simulate as close as you can the operation your undertaking. And getting a feel for the types of cover that can be used while still utilizing the ability to conseal your postion is pretty hard to do when your wearing a different camo. yeah you have workup training for that but regardless all training should be as accurate as possible.

Wow, those pics... wow... and it’s a Middle Eastern country. One of my buds comes from Lebanon and when he first got here, he was like "What the hell? Anthrax?" beacause it was snowing.
