Absolutely, it'll hide an inner barrel no problem. When I first purchased the gun (which was second-hand... I should've mentioned that) it was shooting about 370-380 and I had it downgraded so I could use it at indoor venues. A stock CYMA should still shoot roughly from 360-380.
If you wanna remain accurate/purist, you should probably pick up a PBS-4 instead of the PBS-1 (as its supposed to be a 7.62x39 suppressor) as it'll coincide with the 5.45 magazines better. I only have the PBS-1 there because I stumbled upon this rather confusing reference image:

Awesome man, appreciate the info. I intend on using this outdoors as I already have a beast of an indoor gun (switch the spring as needed). I just want an AK that strokes the Battlefield nerd inside of me and tears new assholes. I think I am decided. Again, thanks for the info, I'm going to start looking.

If you're looking for an AKS-74U, go with either LCT or DBoys. Stay away from CYMA because, eventhough the gearbox is decent, the externals are not nearly as nice as LCT or DBoys.
LCT is the best of the best right now, but DBoys is a close second if you get a full steel model. Unfortunatley, it's not as nice of a finish as the LCT because they give it a finish that looks like truck bed liner, but it will stand up to way more punishment and age way better than a CYMA. Either way, no matter what kind of AKS-74U you grab, you'll need to tinker with the gearbox, so the fact that the DBOYS has a "lesser" gearbox than the CYMA, the externals will more than make up for it in my book. Another drawback of the DBoys though is that you'll have to use either Dboys mags, or mod other brands slightly to fit. Just a little work with a file on the mag, but just something else to watch out for. If you can afford it, go LCT. If money's tight, go DBoys. Quote:

I was looking at the DBOYs and LCTs actually. Either way I'm going to age the exterior of the rifle if I get one, which is why I wat steel externals.
Regarding mags, what is compatibility like with the LCTs?

LCTs can accept just about any mag without modification. Best to stick with LCT mags if you can and grab the mag well spacer too so the mags don't rattle.

That Magwell Spacer is a life saver! Cuts out the "oh shit" factor when reloading quickly.

G&G is coming out with new Lipo powered Aks. They come with two batteries, and two lower handguards (for which the batteries are stored in), so you can swap em out mid game.
At the end of the month I'm going to pick up one of their *Cough* GKs74u |

Having just picked up an LCT AK74 off the forum here yesterday, I'll concur with paulwes83.. the LCT is just beautiful to look at. I was thinking of a CYMA initially.. but having seen a few before, i was left unimpressed. No such case with the LCT. I'll be bringing mine out to Hill437 on Sunday for a test-fire session, if you wish to inspect the quality of this thing. Hands down, the nicest gun now in my little collection. If you got the money.. go quality, or go home. Last edited by HackD; August 10th, 2013 at 01:15.. |

I'll take you up on that offer Bill. I think I'm going to go LCT. Just waiting to sell a couple goodies for the cash and I'll be grabbing one for sure. I'll have one for Triglav for sure though so I'll be running full insurgent gear.

20 minutes with a dremel and I have a functional rock solid gastube rail for a CYMA AK74SU. Proper pics up when I paint it... |
