I'm planning to buy one, as my sidearm & hopefully to use it in some pistol games..

thanks
Don't do it!!

In my case, getting a SOCOM Gear(which essentially a slightly fancier WE) MEU SOC is perhaps one of the biggest mistakes that I EVER made......... beside the sloppy fits, the finishing that didn't last and the leaky mags, the worst thing about it is its incredibly fragile magazine follower, of 5 mags that I have(including the one that came with the pistol), 4 of them have their mag followers snapped in pieces(some of which are busted on day 1 ). It is made out of very brittle plastic that is different to the one used on the magazine lip(which I believe is made out of more flexible ABS). This is one of the few pistol mags that I know of that I felt more comfortable to load BB's from the magazine lips rather than from the loading port..........

hehehe.. thanks for the warning.. I'll definitely go for the TM.. a bit pricey though, that's why W.E. came through my mind.. but there's a saying: "you get what you pay for"..

thanks again, your comments/opinions is very much appreciated..

If you want metal slide out of the box, KJ's 1911 is a viable choice...... one of my friend own one Cansoft version(which he later upgraded with a metal frame) and he seems sworn by it.......

Tokyo Marui 1911 series pistols can take a shit kicking. Just ask BC Hawk; there was one that was lost during a summer milsim in Kelowna that sat through a quarter of a year under dirt and snow. He found it, gassed it up and it fired flawlessly.

So the bottom line between the two is this?

Power: KSC>TM
Accuracy: TM>KSC
Range: TM>KSC
Recoil/Kick: KSC>TM
Reliability: TM>KSC
Durability: TM=KSC

I'd say that sounds about right, I'd also add that Parts/Aftermarket: TM>KSC

There are a lot of overlap between the 2 company's product and if you want to end up upgrading your stuff, TM is the only option purely because not many people makes part for KSC guns and if they do they are hard to find outside of Asia(especially their more special stuff)...

I was there that day the 1911 was found and witness it.

I ended up buying a TM 1911A1 and have been running it on propane for a few years now and its still holding up and doing it job as my secondary.

I never own a KSC so i can not comment on them.

The KSC pistols that I've owned have been reliable as well; just the odd hiccup or so. Overall in my opinion the Marui is slightly more reliable.
