Limiting ammo is way different than fighting for it. Snipers use the ammo that is available .. is it the BB's skill that makes the kill?

If the weights in the ammo cases varied there would be even more strategy. Like Hades said, if there were "match-grade" ammo cases and "grunt-grade"(lol?) ammo, ie .36 and .25. Obviously sniper resupplies will need to be cut down as there will be much more grunts around. I do really like the idea of ammo control, that's nuts.
I can see the need for .36 in BA's, but regular shooters should be getting .25's |

In all fairness, this would be a MilSim game. An entire army wouldn't use 5.56mm for an engagement. There would be different calibers for different weapon systems. Providing it was monitored well, there couldn't be an issue with labeling different ammo caches. Albeit a smaller supply, your typical sniper weights could be circulated as well. Imagine how pissed off a squad would be if they fought long and hard for ammo and discovered that it was for a bolt gun. Or vice versa. That would be good times.

Well that's just it. That's the point. Someones loss is another ones gain, right? That's providing you have snipers in your squad too. I think the inclusion of other BB weights will force folks to pay attention to detail throughout a game. And again, the frustration of obtaining ammo that you can't use would add a definite spin on things. God forbid people actually take stock of what they're carrying and stop spraying and praying.

That's a really good idea and keeps everyone happy.

here is an idea:
.2og for pistols (= 9mm/.45) .25g for Carbines (= 5.56 mm) .28g for DM (= 7.62 mm) .30g+ for snipers (= 7.62 match, .338. .50 etc etc) its just an idea. |

it has to be limited enough to worth fightig for ... so we would be talking a starting ammo loadout of like 150 rounds for AEG 30 for pistol and 20 for BA. OR LESS

http://www.wasagapaintball.on.ca/fields.shtml P.S: click on the field locations to see pics im suggesting we work something out where we have a MASSIVE game that encompasses ALL the fields. It can be anywhere from $50-$100/person and im sure if we get enough confirmed, we can rent the place for a day and Wasaga will make a profit. |

Blackrain is looking at a potential 24 hour Op. Not sure how warm and fuzzy Wasaga would be with accommodating that. Plus they are restricted to paintball goggles, unless that's changed.

yes, but not full face. so long as you have a paintball goggle on, you're fine. and wasaga is pretty accommodating IMHO. they are all really nice and im sure if they will make a nice profit on the event, they will definitely go out of their way to accommodate the lot of us.

oh my mistake, sorry ! i was under the impression that he was asking about hosting a game and possible locations, rules, scenarios etc. pardon my ignorance guys

I have been taking in all the ideas being passed out here and there have been some really good ones. I thank everyone for their input and suggestions, I have been working some of it into the scenario already and it is really adding some wicked twists to the game. Makes me wish I was playing it instead of going to host it..lol.
As for Wasaga ... I know the place and have played it many many times as well as know the owners too. While it would be an interesting venue I can say without a doubt that this event would never fly there as it is going to be held over an entire weekend. Wasaga would never keep the paintballers off field for the whole weekend as they are their bread and butter. With that said as I work on the scenario and the logistics it just keeps getting better and better with all the input everyone has provided. I am looking forward to putting this one on and seeing how everyone fairs during the 24 hrs of play. Location for this event will be central Ontario on one of the 4 locations I am looking at right now. With the smallest of the locations being 100 acres in size. Hope to see you all there enjoying yourselves and having a great time. Thanks again for all your input it is greatly appreciated.
