Cool product...
Interesting products. Too bad the guy from MM is so... overly exuberant.

Damn he's quick!
For the first 2 minutes you can tell the only thought in the MM guys head is "Can I try it...?" |

Has anyone tried the ASAP plate with Magpuls stock adapter? http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper...RS_srch_magpul

Hopefully this isn't too "necro" a post but FYI...the ASAP just recently went ITAR export restricted on Magpul's website, and thus no longer available direct from any USA supplier unless they are willing to spend the large $$ to obtain the export approvals! Inquiring with Magpul basically led nowhere as they never responded (too busy), so I guess it's up to the few Canadian RS gun retailers to bring them in if they're willing to do so. Hard to believe a $30.00 or so chunk of metal would give the US State Dept. fits; undoubtedly at the behest of the DHS & Pentagon, but I suppose they've got nothing better to do in Washington.
It won't be long now before exporting an "original thought" from the USA will become subject to ITAR restrictions in the name of preventing Johnny Jihad from obtaining it. I guess the Oxford English Dictionary will soon have to revise their entry for "paranoid"! More info: here Ready...FIRE...Aim! 'Fly

These can still fit on the KA buffer tubes, because of the locking ring they have on.
But anyways, really sucks for the export. |

I found out the news the bad way. By Magpul emailing me a .PDF of the ITAR FAQ's and telling me my ASAP isn't coming.
But my MS2 should be here by Friday. Should work alright with the UBR.

It's fully available (as is the sling plate) through the Magpul web site. It's just that Canadians can't get it. :P

Arrg!
So, Magpul doesn't want to do a DSP-83 ITAR export license, too small potatoes for a single person; Magpul PTS... seems to be coming out with one, but I can't quite wrap my head around their grammer; It might be coming out in a week or a couple of months. Has anyone else talked to Magpul PTS about an Airsoft version of the ASAP sling plate? (i.e. can you understand what they're saying more than I can?) Help |
