Hero Army surplus in Oshawa (just Google the address). They were cheap- like 35 bucks each; I got two so I have an extra mag. It's clear, but paints up real nice; I did some minor mods to it to make it more sturdy for gaming; I'd be glad to share them with you. Gun shoots straight and strong, GREAT gun for a noob.

Get AV'd and you'll find more selection; I don't think Hero will sell to minors either.

Better yet, go to a game and talk to the guys. Get a handle on what's out there before you sink big money. We love to answer questions and you won't get flamed (unless you are dick, which I doubt). Try checking out Brian's games at TTAC3 or Pusangi's games at Defcon (in Scarborough, so probably a little closer.)

CO2 airsoft pistols are actually ok. They work well, they're usually powerful, have few moving parts to break (a good thing), and since most are non-blowback, you don't waste gas cycling the slide, so you get a lot of shots out of a single CO2 powerlet. And the real up side is that you can actually use them in cold weather that would cripple a typical duster or propane gas gun. Personally, I prefer the realism of a full metall GBB pistol, but these clear CO2 pistols do the trick and are reasonably cheap too.

I'd go but I got no gear or atleast dont got the gear I need. You know of any locations that sell 6mm Co2 powered pistols in the Markham or Richmond hill area?

No real locations, pretty much only here can you get GBBs or AEGs. Meet up with a verifier if you're over 18 then buy one from a retailer here.

You can get those clearsoft CO2 guns in a lot of surplus or paintball stores. Just look around.

I would like to warn those who purchase CO2 pistols, that when used indoors, check the consistency of the FPS. I got shot in the arm from 3 feet away and lost a chunk of my inner arm (about the size of the bb...) from a bare flesh hit. Turns out that sucker clocked in at 450FPS on the first shot of a fresh CO2 canister...

Yes, the first shot or 2 out of a CO2 powerlet, regardless of the gun, with have a HUGE velocity increase over consecutive shots. I noticed that with my pellet guns years ago. Currently, I can really notice that with my Walther PPK and Beretta Px4 Storm pistols. First shot out of a fresh powerlet will give a blowback that easily rivals the recoil of a .22 revolver. Subsequent shots are nowhere near as powerful.

So yes, for CQB, I would recommend that the gun be dry-fired 2-3 shots on a fresh powerlet before using it against someone.

PM Endymion so you can meet up with him to get age-verified, then you can access the classifieds section here on ASC. First purchase should be an aeg IMO tho.

We have a game at Defcon tonight and Endymion (Alan) usually shows up to do the age-verification thing.

You can get a "drop in" replacement "mechbox" for a version 2 rifle...Madbull used to make one (I think they're out of production now). They're semi-only and a little fiddly.

The one I saw built up into a rifle had a very hard time shooting under 400fps. The owner tried to get it under 350fps....and ended up using different hopup rubbers to purposely "leak" enough air to drop the velocity.

Neat...but not worth it. Nice trigger though...broke much more like a real trigger than typical AEGs.

I'm near Stouffville; as far as retail stores go the only decent one I'm aware of near me is Hero in Oshawa. Not much for airsoft guns at all; I'd only recommend the one I got. A guy who works there is on the boards here and plays at TTAC3.

Get your BDU's at the Stouffville country market for real cheap. There's a guy outside selling jeans and a whole pile of surplus camo shirts and pants, sometimes hats and other stuff- he's been there all summer, I think he's still there.

DITTO! I do this too; a great piece of advice. I broke the zipper on my vest when Llotech test-fired a fresh powerlet at me.

How am I off?

Copper Coated BB = 5.1 GRAIN which is .33-.34 GRAMS
Airsoft BB = .20 GRAMS

480fps w/ .33g = 3.53 Joules
3.53 Joules w/ .20g = 616fps

Wheres the country market located? I dont travel to Stouffville much, only go there for the Wal-mart supercenter that's there.

East end of town:

Stouffville country market is on 10th line (Reesor Rd.) north of Main st. Stouffville- right by the water tower. Open on Sat & Sun, till around 4.

And if you need any tools, stop in at the Rusty Barn there and see Sharon the Tool Lady.

Is the guy that sells the BDU/Camo there? And if he is roughly how much would it be for the shirt and pants combo?
