Just got the new spring in, speant plenty of time cleaning out all the plastic bits from the piston and what not.. Working perfectly, guess I was lucky it didnt do more damage..

Glad to hear, what did you end up dropping in?
I didnt bother going back to read anything in case you did tell us. Its good to know that no additional damage occured, Im surprised there was no wear on the spring guide or anything! But hell if you got away clean, you got away clean.

Damn right, Old spring I corrected myself was a Systema 120sp, and I just put in a new Prometheus MS120SP, works great so far, let it break in a little bit. Spring guide had a few nicks on the tip, probably were one end of the break was wrapped around and caught it a bit.. nothing a file couldnt handle.

If there springs were not that old, either you got lemmons, or the springs were twisted while being installed inside the gearbox. did you use a screwdriver to guide the spring while installing it in the gearbox? these helps avoiding unnecessary twisting and turning during installation as these springs are hard and requires some effort while installing them.

i experienced the same thing with systema 120 spring installed to galaxy mp5k... the broken spring is still in aeg my junk box, exactly like that...

DAMN I hope my systema m120 gearbox dident get a lemon :P
I also ordered 2 other systema m120 springs for my AK and second project gun V2 virgin mechbox so far.
