---

The FAMAS is really excellent. It's the first AEG I used and I still love it. Thanks to its bullpup configuration, it has a long barrel compared to its size, which gives it great range and accuracy, compared to other stock AEGs. Plus, it shoots very fast and won't cost you too much. Sure, it has a more plastic feel to it, compared to other AEGs, but that really doesn't matter much...especially for a beginner.

edit pour Greylocks: Tu as raison.

edit for Greylocks: Yes, I agree. I know many of our players here in St. John's (by luck of the draw, but also willingly) have tried out various kinds of AEGs before deciding on what to get. It's all about what suits your play style. You may love the way an M249 looks, but if you don't like being a support gunner, it's not the gun for you. Likewise, you may love the idea of being a sniper, but once you find out it doesn't work the same way in airsoft, you may change your mind. It's all about experience and figuring out what you like.

Ok for Airsoft. In france we said Airsoft also.
One question please : How many you buy a Famas in your country ??
And if you buy an Airsoft, Where are you buy it: Canadian retailers or import retailers ???
I leave near Paris in Orleans and my retailers sell Famas F1 Marui 299€ with a battery and battery charger with a tactical vest.

Y say it's not the good topics for questions about retailing but y try...:smack:

See you later !!!
Salut !

i rented a FAMAS for a day and IMO, it wasn't worth the $50 thati paid. The main problems that i noticed was:
1. the hop-up has to be maxed out in order to have any effect whatsoever
2. the mechbox was giving me ALOT of problems. It would stop firing on semi, but as soon as i switched to auto, it worked and then when i switched back to semi it would work again. also every couple of shots, 2 BB's would come out and go at best, 10 feet, as if the hop-up wasn't affected. other than that, it just shot poorly. The Mc51 that i rented previously just shot straighter, farther and more accurately then that FAMAS. Maybe if i you put a lot of upgrades into it, it could kick ass but than again, with enough money, im sure any gun could. For your first gun, get something made by TM but with a Version 2 or 3 mechbox as they are the best to take apart (or so i have heard) Try an AUG if you want a bulpup or if you want a compact gun, get an MP5 or a MC51. thats just my 2 cents

Points taken, but I've never heard of those problems with a FA-MAS.
Hop-up not working?
I think that's just the gun you had.

Sounds like you got a really shitty famas. The hop-up on mine was great, very effective at about 60%. Like I said, the thing outranged my stock G36. I did notice the V1 mechbox locks up more than the V3, but it's not a problem unique to the the V1. The best way to avoid lockups is to pull the trigger all the way on each fire in semi-auto. I loved my famas, I just hope the gun I sold it for will be just as good.

I agree, remember it was a rented gun and who knows where it went, and for the price in euro and canadian, it comes about the same price here in canada and in france....I guess only in the us is cheap or better yet, taiwan or hong kong...

perhaps you are all right, but i rented it from a guy who was very experienced in airsoft and takes good care of his stuff. i dunno either way it left me with a very negative experience with that gun and that version of fear box. good thing i dont feel that way about TM in general though. everyone there had TM guns and they all shot great... cept mine. though i did see 2 CA's act up, and one guy had a G&P? maybe G&G (can't remember) L85 which was really nice. still, TM guns DO kick ass if you get the right ones. I for one am going to get the M14.

That would be the G&G L85. I heard it's pretty nice, other than the blowback that tends to break.

I wish TM would remake the FAMAS with better materials and engineering. It also kinda sucks that you can't use STANAG mags on it without some tricky modding.

From what I've heard STANAG mags are actually a pain in the ass on the MAS. They hang down further than the MAS mags and get in the way.

What would happen if a bullpup were to misfire?

Same thing that happens when any other gun misfires?
