Just to give you an idea of Canada Post service: I run a small eBay business on the side. I send every order with tracking and insurance to cover my ass and the buyers'.
I sent something from Toronto to BC via expedited Canada Post. (a huge parcel)
It took 31 days to arrive! Yet I can send items to the UK in 5 days.
We have the slowest, most expensive mail service in the world.
Be patient. Shipping across Canada takes longer than sending things to Europe.

This is true. CP is retarded. I order something from Toronto and it always ends up going to BC first according to their tracking. My Package once ended up in freaking yellowknife and sat there for a week and a half until I called and complained I hadn't received it yet.

The only advantage to CP is that they're generally cheaper than UPS. UPS are crooks and they gouge you (well, they gouge me anyways... but that's another story) but at least their estimated delivery times are usually accurate.

CP is shit. My buddy payed for next day shipping on an item that took 3 days to just get out of the sorting plant, and like another 2 or 3 to get to him. CP is shit. I think if I buy anything else off the classifieds, I'll request that it be sent courior. More expensive but hey at least I know I'll get it.

I remember I had to ship an old 50lb CRT monitor to southern ontario. CP was going to charge me $85 for 8 days delivery.
Fedex was 2 days and $55.
For larger heavier items across Canada to most places, CanPar is your best bet-
especially if you want tracking. They are a little slower. but very reliable.

Beware of UPS. Insurance only covers you if your shipment doesn't arrive.
If you package it yourself and insure it, even if it arrives smashed all to hell, UPS will not reimburse you. Their agents must package it for you (and charge and arm and a leg may I add) to collect anything on insurance.
I learned this the hard way.

I shipped a tacbelt to BC to one of the guys who bought it from me. After about a few weeks, i got a MSN msg from my client who had purchased it stating it had not arrived yet and that the Tracking # stated only "Item Received at CP"

It was missing all the other posts like "Item accepted into Sorting Plant" "Item out for Delivery" etc etc.

I immediately called CP to figure out whats going on and to try to correct the problem. The person on the line told me they cant launch an investigation untill so many business days etc etc. They also told me that the shipment stops during weekends etc. Apparently CP Airplanes can now Hover in one spot for the weekend and then continue on monday morning. After 3 weeks (and yes i know its not as bad as some of your experiences) The package finally arrived with a note taped to it saying "sorry for the delay."

Ive also had a Taclite get sent back "Because of Customs" to Hong Kong. I had waited almost 2 months for it. But According to the Tracking, It only took 1 Week to arrive in canada. After calling CP They had said that It was Refused because of customs and started accusing me of smuggling goods. I told her that When Customs Decides a G&P R500 Taclite is considered a firearm, then maybe she might have something. The CP Representative was Rude from the beginning, and had sent me to Canada Customs and told me to give them the tracking # to try and figure it out (which makes no sense because why would customs have records of your tracking #). Customs had informed me that they had nothing to do with the package, and that it was even impossible to enter tracking #s into their computer. After Calling CP again i was informed that the package was now sent back to Honk Kong because of an Incomplete Senders Address, not from customs violation, though the SAME Package was sent back to me and cleared and shipped to me within 1 week after it arrived back in hong kong. They are Inconsistant, Extremely expensive when it comes to anything bigger than a few inches or weighs more than a pound.

My dad had Gold Heirloom necklaces stolen by CP that was in my family for over 8 Generations. CP Refused to pay the Insurance for it and to this day, have not done anything about it.

Overall, CP is absoloutely Horrid for sending anything valuable. Unfortunately we dont really have any choice in that matter. For smaller parts or even large packages, Fed ex, UPS, purolator etc etc charges almost 2x as much (though they are much faster and reliable). Unless my clients are willing to pay 2x for the shipping, im forced to use CP to send my products out. But id never send a Gun, Jewelery, anything valuable via CP, they CANT be trusted.

I have been shipping airsoft stuff via CP since 2001, and only once have had a problem...

I shipped someone out west a M4 slither stock, 3 weeks later they still hadnt gotten it but CP wouldnt honour the insurance saying it was still being delivered so I reimbursed the guy from my own pocket...something like 6 months later he got it and sent me back my money.. other than that i have shipped easily 100 or more packages with express post and priority with no issue.. i find they run like clockwork... i can usually tell someone when they will get a package down to the day... on occasion the time of day depending where they live and the time of year...

If you dont want to deal with CP... next best option is by far FedEx... never had a bad experience with them... UPS are bitchy to deal with... purolater breaks EVERYTHING... and DHL i find to be unreliable at best (they like to claim they tried to deliver things when they didnt...similar to CP... but at least CP offices are more convenient)

If you pay someone and its been a couple weeks and you havent gotten it...(provided you used a tracked, and expedited shipping method) they should be paying you back even if its from thier own pocket...with the assumption that if the package shows up you will return it to them or pay them back the money as you would now have your parcel...

Well laugh all you like, But I find your inability to send a package on the agreed time very sad.

I sent the money 3 weeks ago or more, it took you a week and a half to actually send it and a week and a half to ship it, The shipping part is CP's fault.

Thanks for all of the replies guys, I appreciate them, I agree CP sucks but it helps to have a good seller to ship stuff on time and not send you phony tracking #'s.

Let's hope that doesn't happen with my tac belt. Speaking of which. Got a tracking number handy?

Using the terms fraud and police in your posts is not something that should be done lightly.

Think before you open your mouth and allow such offensive and actionable works to be published on the internet.
