the pelican that my friend has is pretty heavy as well...especially when fully loaded. I have seen the valve on his pop out suddenly on few occasions and the locking mechanism is sometimes quite hard to unlock. we have both scraped our share of knuckles trying to pop those things open...the hardiggs are lighter and the latches only open easily when you specifically pop the tab. are you planning to store your guns fully loaded(ie: sight, light, mag, laser, etc) if youre just going with the bare rifle and maybe light/laser on side rails, you may be able to fit your 2 guns in there if you invert it. the foam will be sparse but it just may be possible depending on the length of the guns.

i have a pelican 1200 case too. but hey its a good tradeoff, its lead weight for its features; thank God its crush-proof, plus its water-tight and it automatically regulates pressure.

"you get what you pay for"

Pelican is the "Systema" of cases.
