Ahh indoor field. Some of the SD tried doing this a good number of years ago. it was easier to open an outdoor field (Which many thanks to the previous tenants of that field for laying down the groundwork! Just so you know!!). What are the hours, have you taken staffing into account? 5 day a week operation, 7 days? hours of operations?

Attributes
Attributes for an indoor field.
Street scape.. with cars.. mail boxes, benches.. Buildings with multiple levels.. including basement levels. What you are trying to acheive is the ability to do Urban scenarios that lead to CQB engagements. One of the most important things is an environment that changes. You need to be able to offer new set ups and scenarios with changing set ups to keep it fresh. This will require a lot of design and planing to go into the set up of a permanent environment. Some structures will need to be fixed.. while others could be mobile.. One of the strengths of what we have at TTAC3 is the ability to set up very different environments every time we play.. and even the ability to change the set up within the same session. This keeps things fresh and we can make set ups tailored to the goals of the session. For example .. sometimes we will set up a random field for informal open skirmishing. Other times we set up structures in depth for progressive entry and breaching. The size of the space limits the scale of what we can do .. but certaily the reconfigurable walls afford substantial scope.

Multiple stories would require high ceilings on the building and could become an insurance issue, those structures would have to be permanent, but it's something to look into. |

We have a place that we play indoor in calgary. We are charged 20$ a night and we play from 7-11. The location is also used for lazer tag. So there is a idea rather than paintball. No mess and grime with lazer tag only little kid birthday parties and wussies. There is a pro shop there and I think that they do all right or at least turn a profit.

One of the options that would strengthen your proposition is multi-use property.
You could potentially supplement by setting up as a laser tag/airsoft type environment. Same layouts and clean!! edit: whoops, ended up entering the same info as the previous poster. |

Hire a gun doc, accessories/supplies store, and perhaps a testing/shooting competitor range could help business.
With availability of chinasoft now from buyairsoft, you can look into rental services. Not sure how familiar you are with airsoft, but I think having the knowledge to repair AEGs/GBBs as a owner can certainly help reduce cost a lot. |

All good ideas
But the reality is without the $1.5 million it takes to set something like this up
This is all just soo much talk ... that frankly has been said before. What I would like to see is someone come here and say. I have 2 million dollars and I have incorporated a business and I have a BFL. I need interested airsofters to consult on the establishment of an airsoft only indoor play area to be opened in the GTA within the next 3 months. That would get my attention.. rather than just make me tired

XT prices are as follows
28$ for 1 game, which includes game time, rental of the M15, 4 mags, and protective gear. Other guns have other prices Have your own gun? 18$, which includes all the above, without the gun. 2nd 3rd 4th ,etc games in the day are half price. (which are as low as 9$ for someone with their own gun). As per the static thing... the small changes affect the game play big time, so it rarely gets Stale. |

Someone mentioned laser tag:
that is an interesting alternative for alternative income instead of making it a paintball field. |

What would I like to see?
Nothing. Find a warehouse with some office space in it. Then open it up and let people play. You don't need fancy shit. Just rooms, hallways, staircases, a few open areas where things can get interesting, etc. |

I'm going to have to second Morbius. If it's a toss up between yet another indoor field simulating an outdoor environment or an indoor field that's actually an indoor setting, latter's definately more interesting (less common, more novel) IMHO. Especially in the summer, when we can easily go outdoor for an outdoor environment. Plenty of cars and building at FR.
