Any idea where you would add the rubber? I just noticed mine is cracked too after reading this haven't even gamed it yet. Also, you guys know you can't import lowers right?

I believe it is the portion of the gun that would have the serial number on it for the real deal. So with an Mp5 the upper is a no no and the lower is fine, and its the opposite for Armalites. I would welcome correction on this however.

Okay? That's $100us shipped, plus any applicable import fees. From us it's $115cdn + local tax shipped, and you get the satisfaction of supporting a Canadian retailer. Plus, if you ask nicely, I'll sell em for less, because it's almost Christmas.

Don't worry,

First :
It's not a replica at all, G5 is not a real gun
second :
You can prove that your G5 shoot more than 366 fps and this lower will replace the part broken
Third :
150g, in a bubble letter, I don't think custom will check instead of metal receiver...

Got my Replacement lower today.

1) It spent only 2 mins in customs before it was released.

2) It came with a rubber nub that mine original gun was missing that fits in a hole on the buffer plate (part attached to the recoil rod and spring that the bolt hits). This seems to take some of the shock.

3) The rod that holds the stock is different. as is the part that the stock attaches to.

4) The springs are a nightmare to deal with. The spring that attaches to the firing pin gets stretched out easily. be careful with it.

5) I added a bit of rubber (from a RC monster truck tire) between the back of the lower and the buffer plate. IT shortens the stroke a little.

6) I got it working again! Still love the gun!

Everything about this GBBR impresses me, but there's one major drawback. I've had two lower receivers split apart on me, and I have not even skirmished the gun yet. I hope GHK comes out with a extra reinforced third revision of the receiver.

Has anyone ever tried importing this gun from overseas? http://samoon.com.tw/gbb-airsoft-gun...freeshipping-2 seems really tempting since its free shipping and throws in an extra mag. Its not a replica, so i dont know if its going to fall into a restricted fire arms, but the fps on the website states 345 fps which is below the importing fire arm laws, but this isnt a replica... so just wanted to see if anyone has done it before.

Yes,

It is fine.

"G5" is not a replica of any firearm on the market, regardless of the under 366 FPS law.

Cringe.

That's not exactly true.

As far as Canadian law goes, REPLICA FIREARMS are prohibited, and AIRSOFT GUNS that shoot over 366FPS and below (another number I can't remember, lets call it 700FPS) are classed as unregulated firearms.

Just because it doesn't replicate a real firearm, does not mean it can't be classed as a replica firearm, and as such prohibited from entry into Canada.

The only airsoft guns allowed to be imported, 100% of the time, every time, are those that fall into the unregulated firearms classifications. Everything else is subject to seizure or a lengthy testing period by the RCMP.

If you want to order this airsoft gun, and it states 345 fps, the CBSA will likely seize it, you will have to challenge them that it is not a replica firearm. Which is damn hard, because for all intents and purposes, it IS a replica firearm. It looks like a firearm, functions as a firearm, and doesn't meet the standards of what we in Canada define as an Unregulated Firearm, and thus, prohibited.

Now, to close this, I'm just summarizing my understanding of the laws as they stand right now, I'm not an importer, and I don't deal in importing airsoft guns. There is just a lot of misunderstanding floating around about importation. Rule of thumb, have it imported by a retailer, they have their methods.

EDIT: Reading above, a lot of people have successfully ordered parts such as receivers from abroad. I would still be buyer beware on these kinds of things.
