The frame from mine is from another G17 custom, so yes it is possible.

Wood grips on both would look hot!

Yup. In the pic detailing the butt end of the grip, you can see a little black hex screw. Removing that allows the plastic magwell to be completely removed - hence allowing for the usage of standard TM G17 mags if you wish (or just for removal of the magwell).

Luving the Glock..Hey Juicy..is the magwell a polymer one or an aluminum one? It looks great with the magwell. I'm thinking of getting an aluminum one for a little more weight on the backend of the pistol. I'm really digging the tan lower as well..

Nice pair of Cutlass-M9-things. I have no idea what they're actually called, sorry, lol. I'm apparently not asian enough?

As to the magwell, it is a ABS one made by TM. Haven't seen any ABS ones on the aftermarket market (that sounds redundant, doesn't it?). I've attached a pic of the Glock magwell with a standard G17 mag... I had thought that the special mags were special for a reason - they aren't, really. If you had to, you could still pry out a stuck mag. And it looks a little more streamlined with the flat-bottomed mag... unfortunately, I love the fact that the special ones have a baseplate that slides over to completely cover the fill valve (mud in fill valves is no fun - personal experience has taught me that much), and I already have the 4 special mags. Edit: actually, on further messing around with both types of mags (sorry, Andres - I just had to try it), the special mags are a little easier to index out of a pouch and slam home. I like them more |
