The best thing to keep in mind is the majority of the time quality of reflected by price. The caveat to this is that due to the way airsoft is in Canada things are much more expensive. So when your dropping 300 dollars on something you think is great, it may in fact not be that great.
The best thing you can do at this time is to sit down and consider what make of gun you would like to own, after figuring that out I would suggest looking into which companies produce the model and then doing some background research on each company. This website holds a lot of information and all you need to do to access is use the search function located at the top of the page. In the future for readability purposes please attempt to use a decent font and size combination that does not make a persons eyes bleed when their trying to read it. Also please refrain from using generic non descriptive thread titling, see here for more information on that : http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=92478

DO NOT purchase that set from Canadian Tire, that's $100 completely wasted on a terrible set of spring powered, cheap plastic, pretty much useless and unplayable guns that are worth more like $30 and should just be thrown in the garbage after a week. You will absolutely regret it.
Hold onto that $100, save up a few more twenties for a few more months, and spend $160-$200 on a real airsoft gun. You can get a decent gas blowback Glock for $160 http://albertaairsoft.com/store/prod...?id_product=25 And a really great for the price SRC M933 AEG for $210 http://albertaairsoft.com/store/prod...id_product=252 (He's out of stock so get both guns from Ken @ http://www.007airsoft.com/products/htm/aeg-src-m16.htm)

You guys it would be kind of hard for him to get AV'ed since Dawson Creek is in the middle of nowhere (relatively). AFAIK there are no AV reps in that general area who are that close.
OP: If that's the price range you can afford then sorry you're SOL. There is a similar product you can get that is better if you're willing to spend like $20-25 more. NOTE I am NOT saying that it's the greatest but you get better bang for your buck for this one instead. The one you want to be looking at is the Crosman S34P (3 shot shotgun). It's a direct clone of the TM shotty AFAIK and is probably the best bang for your buck in that price range.

I can't believe they are charging $100 for two crappy clear plastic springers. Those can be bought used for like $15 each at my local hobby store - probably because nobody wants them anymore.

The same reason they got rid of their ammo etc. And apparently Canadian Tire has stopped stocking airguns (pellets) in their downtown stores.

Lots of ammo at my walmarts but it is all bio bb crap (even the 0.20s) that if you look, aren't even polished and have little bits of plastic molding still on them so they'll scratch up the inside of your barrel.

Well walmart is a US owned company, and until the guys down in the states decide to back Canadian products we won't be seeing those products. Also there isnt a large enough profit margin if walmart was to be selling those guns I mean Walmart prides itself on being able to bring you amongst the lowest prices possible, so they'd rather sell a 100$ gun that will break so you come back and buy another 100$ gun etc... and lastly do you really want Walmart to carry cansoft? i mean usually what happens is a under age kid stands in front of the case with his parents and goes "i want that one" parents buy it, and guess what the kids like 15. I had a kid rip open the packaging infront of me and he held it like a "gat" and honestly i kid you not went "BRRRAAAPPP BRRRRAPP" little wanker.
anyways back to the task at hand We offered you our opinions, I don't know why because you had said in your original post "even if you say no im going to get it anyway" so I find this thread a waste of our time. And if you had bothered doing ANY research into airsoft on here you would have seen that playing in your back yard is illegal. That the gun your getting is a waste of money, and that if you can't afford better this isnt the sport for you. thats just my few pennies |

Oh no I meant real ammo. I think it's a whole new marketing campaign, trying to make themselves more family oriented. That and possibly some pressure from somewhere, I asked some employees at both Wal-Mart and CT why they didn't have airguns and they just said inner city ones won't re-stock from that point on. He might have been talking out his ass but my CT and WM are both airgun free. The clear airsoft guns they still have though, and springer paintball guns.
