since the pm limit is 100, i delete all the pms when a transaction is complete, so i dont have the pms anymore...

i told him that a couple of screws dont hold, therefore the RIS won't hold unless u fix them with some hardware glue or other stuff and i told him to give me some time so i could give the RIS a good look to tell him how many screws exactly are problematic etc... but he told the he has gunsmith that would fix it and to just ship it.

no, it wasnt a retaliatory negative feedback, i just commented on his reaction...i sent him an RIS with know defects and he still complains about it..

so lets hope he still have the pms so we can have actual proofs to see who is mistaken and whos right...if not, its just a game of my word against his

thanks all for ur help,

I keep a very comprehensive collection of receipts, PMs, and emails (no emails in this instance).

Also, the retaliatory feedback is uncalled for. I did absolutely nothing wrong in this transaction. I paid within moments of saying I'd do so, and was calm/collective/curtious this entire time. I don't see how it's "UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOUR"...

One would assume unacceptable behaviour would entail leaving a bag of flaming feces on someone's doorstep, or perhaps sending viruses to a disclosed email..... Hmm. I guess times have changed.

i think the PMs speak for themselves and that a refund should ensue.

thanks all for ur help,
1. It IS retaliatory negative feedback. He left you bad feedback so you left some in return. Did he short change you? No. Did he take too long to pay? No. Did he try to scam you saying the item never arrived? No. Thus you have NO reason to leave him negative feedback! You left him negative feedback for what... wanting a refund on a defective and badly described item?

2. Why would you sell and item if you didn't know EXACTLY what shape it's in? Are you going to sell someone a car that you've never driven in 10 years and yet tell them that the car runs and drives fine 10 years ago but the doors don't close properly and have the new owner find out there is only first gear left when they try to drive it after paying you?

3. From the PM's Kis posted you NEVER stated the item was UNUSABLE!

Quote:
ylasfar:
one thing i have to warn you about though, some screws dont hold anymore, they lost some of the grip, so u'll have to use some hardware stuff or glue to keep them tight. Let me know if that changes anything for you.

Kos:
Hmm. Which screws are we talking about here? Are they important?

ylasfar:
they`re some screws that are loose, like u screw over n over again but it doesnt get tighter kinda screws.....
You NEVER replied saying exactly which screws and whether they are IMPORTANT! If the screws that are screwed up at the ones that hold the thing onto the barrel are screwed up I'd say those are IMPORTANT because that makes the item UNUSABLE!

4. I don't read in ANY of those PM's about you asking for more time to double check anything. The only thing I see is you saying that you'd look at it more closely after work. BUT, refer to #2 about that....

Hmnn shoulda asked for pics first...

No need to create bad blood over something like this, give him 75% of the money back and have him ship it at his cost.

ylasfar did warn him it was in bad condition, but should have gone into greater details. What bothers me is the lack of picture, if an item is damage i DEMAND pictures. A picture is worth a 1000 words after all.

A picture would have show the scratches but wouldn't have show much of the problems with the screws.

im on the fence here, as i see that the item was not fully described initially, but neither did kos pursue further details about the damage mentioned

It does seem that ylasfar did warn the buyer that the screws were stripped BUT did not exactly disclose the extent of the damage.

Buyer had said that he can get his gundoc to take a look at it and did jump in a bit too fast. The seller was going to take a deeper look at it, and he did have other obligations (work) so it could have sat on the backburner for a while and let ylasfar take a closer look at the unit.

Really though, at the end of it all I think that ylasfar should refund somewhere between $140 and take back the unit. That does seem fair enough. If I was a seller I would think that's acceptable.

Then a movie. Point is that KOS didn't pursue on the extent of the damages and now ends up with a bad rail.

I'm sure he learned his lesson, haste makes waste.

Be the better man ylasfar, refund some of his money and take the rail back.

KOS, what kind of gunsmith do you have, that can't rethread holes and put new screws in?

Yeah, I agree. I didn't ask enough questions about it... And this is why I offered to take some loss. It WAS partially my fault.

Now THAT is true, he should have forced the issue.

But the item was selling for $175 Shipped (original asking price). He states the item was $91 USD (pretty much $100 CDN) plus Canadian taxes would put the item about $120 max. Now add shipping so say $50 for that and you come out to $170 now.

He was selling a USELESS item for about 90%+ of the price of a brand new one that would have worked!

That is on the VERGE of scamming there in my eyes... if the seller knew the item was unusable without being repaired why ask almost brand new price for it?

we keep putting onus on the buyer kos, but again, while he should have asked more questions, it is the SELLER that should take all the initiative. after all, Kos was HIS CUSTOMER. plain and simple. the onus falls on the seller not the buyer IMHO.
