i agree with Brian. If you add the possibility of capturing and defending supply lines, that too would make for a very interesting game. as for ammo restrictions, i forgot to add, just make everyone carry low-mid cap mags with a certain total ammo restriction per class. i.e.: snipers can only carry 100 round on person, rifleman can only carry 500 rounds etc, or something along those lines. Make pistols unlimited ammo (i.e.: as many mags as you can carry) or something if you like.

Very interesting... I like the idea of having ammo as a commodity, the supply lines was something that I was working into the game but with limited ammo it really can make things interesting. Having a vendor on site with BB's would make the ammo supply easy enough to handle for the game for each side. Now would packaging BB's into 500 rnd bags that could be passed out on the field from the supply guys be a feasible way to simulate ammo crates in which players could do field reloads?

honestly, if its possible, a 24h game with ALL field access at Wasaga Paintball would be awesome and meet everyone's requirements, from bases, to forests, to bunkers to two story defendable positions.

The only problem I can see with supplying the ammo at the field is some people are really picky about what ammo goes into their guns. People know their guns and know that certain brands of BBs won't work well with their gear. In my case, unless it's BB Bastard or Metal Tech, I now refuse to use them in my guns. If those 2 choices aren't available, I won't play. No offense intended because I know you're a reseller of VA / KSC BBs, BlackRain, but every time I use those things, I'm stuck taking my guns and / or mags apart to pick smashed or jammed BBs out of them, and as a result, I refuse to use them. And others feel the same about these or other brands of BBs. So supplying with a single brand might be an issue with some players.

Game Taskings
You might consider these:
1) Recce Ptl to insert LP/OP - Have an En Obj that needs to have STA performed on it, in support of an Fighting Raid Patrol. The Team in question gets points for staying in posn for a required period of time, collecting specific information, extracting and returning to the CP for debrief 2) Fighting Ptl - RAID on En Obj from number 1 3) Close Protection Patrol - A distinguished person (NPC) need protection from the En. Have Ptl escort DP from one location to another location. Tasking ends after DP has remained unharmed in posn two for one hour 4) Snatch Ptl - An En DP has been located. A Fighting Ptl needs to go out and lift the En DP When I come up with more, I will let you know. Juctim Omnimodo Michael |

and here we go.. so many times the needs of a single individual start to modify the plans for 100. It's simple.. if you don't want to comply with the conditions set for the game DON'T GO ... don't try to change them to suit you. it is impossible to satisfy everyone.. for BBs you supply 1 weight . 25 for everyone .. that way everyone is on a even playing field... sure .. maybe your gun runs better on .28 and that is what I really like to run with.. Maybe your finely tuned sniper rifle will only feed .32 g depleted irridium discarding sabot guided bbs ... but in this theater of operation... WE DON'T HAVE THOSE I think no one would whine if a diet of bastard BBs were offered.. ( well except VA.. maybe )

Buy a whack of ammo cans ( ro maybe a friendly surplus supplier will donate them) ( which hold 500 rounds of real bullets ) and bag the bbs in bags of 500. Every can has to be moved from the rear area to the front.. and if ammo is to be stolen the can must be taken. You could even weight the cans to make the bearing of them more realistic

Now that is interesting.... and more than likely something that can be done. Would surly put a wild twist to the game having one's ammo supply stolen...lol.

MANY players (not talking about chairsofters here as they don't shoot enough) have problems with certain bbs like crunchmeister said. Personally I will never use madbulls in my aegs again as they jam the hell out of my mags however they work great in my gbb and nbb. Also I, aswell as many others won't use bbs that anybody was handling (could have drop on ground and put back in bag or something) NOW if say the rule was like BW1 and you can carry spare bbs but only load your mags while at the respawn point or at a designated loading point, that would be better.... though it would have to be strictly enforced as I have seen many people ignore that rule at games.

I'm just bringing up a potential pitfall with this idea if BBs are supplied as part of the cost of the game as you suggested. I think in terms of the game, it's a fantastic idea. But because of the requirements of some picky guns, a lot of players may also choose to not attend if only a particular brand they know give them issues are being offered. There's not much sense joining in a game if the players already know they'll constantly back at the staging area picking their gear apart to clear jammed and broken BBs.

I like the low cap to mid cap amount. Someone mentioned that they lose 3 to 5 BBs from magazine changes, etc. They are bang on. Low caps to me are ideal. Mid caps are tolerable. High caps are okay if a new player only has one magazine. Otherwise they have no place on any MilSim Op. That's my opinion on the topic of mag capacities.

Hey Rain, let me know when you narrow down a date for this one. My brother may seriously consider your "request", but his work keeps him back and forth to Edmonton, so at this time he cannot commit.
...and as for the game control providing the ammo; not gonna happen if I'm sniping.....'cause I'd hate to see what I'd have to pay for 0.36 weights, especially considering that my bro and I just bought a case last month. SHA DO

Or another idea on the ammo side would be let everyone load up before the game however once the game starts no matter what the use of bb loaders of any type is prohibited. That way you have to take the time to load your magazines by hand which is a pain in the ass and will discourage the spray n pray personalities.
And I'd have to agree with sha do on sniping. I will only run heavyweights in my BA seeing using lighter weight bb's dont quite cut it. In real war situations snipers use match grade ammo and not the regular stuff grunts use so would be nice to reflect on that part. |

.25 for example .. or .20 ... whatever the point is if its controled and limited the ammo itself becomes the objective.. it could be possibe to allow different weights.. say for example in a box of supplied ammo there was 500 .25 bbs and 20 .36 ( or whatever )
