Just because he does something his way, it doesn't mean that's how it SHOULD be done.
Not that I'm saying it has to be on the left. I'm just saying that somebody that famous would probably put his light on the right if nothing else than to at least seem like he's doing it right IF that was in fact the general rule(light on chamber side).

I'd say that's up to the user to decide, based on their usage/shooting preferences & style. There is no rule set in stone as to how it absolutely has to be done.

There's a reason. I can't remember, but I know there was a good plausible reason behind it.

And Bri, I TOTALLY agree with you. Chris Costa's load ain't for swallowing, boys.

Well, the reason why he mounts his lights to the left is because it matches with the way his hand rests on his fore grips. His reasoning and logic behind the placement makes sense and works well for his style, as it allows him to maintain the same control over his weapon with minimal changes to his hand placement whether he is using the lights or not.

I forgot why the flashlight should be on the right side.

But if I try to remember, it would be that when you lay your rifle (AR) on the ground/flat surface. etc.. when you have your flashlight on the left side, your gun wouldn't sit properly depending how guys would mount it. This is why it should be mounted on the right side, why? The right side is the chamber, and you should always have the chamber facing up.

Chris Costa?
WTF?
Flash light on his left of the rifle?
WTF?

He has the Surefire M900..

Back on topic, yeah, looks very empty without the gas block.. I custom made this barrel from a 2 piece, so I'd have to buy another M4 barrel. lol I like the VLTOR gas block, might get that.

But, something about mounting the light on the Ejection port side specifically... not in relation to CC. I think it had something to do with never placing the rifle ejection port down..

Bah, anyway. Lanny's gun looks pretty nice. I've lost my taste for fully loaded rifles though.

You think he only has one gun? I'd recommend watching the 3rd DVD as well...

Your PEQ is on the left side AND does exactly the same thing that your saying having the light there would cause.

lol like I said, the PEQ is different than a flashlight. The shape of the PEQ is flat so it makes the gun balanced when set on table.

Sorry Brian, I forgot about that double mount. But having that double mount makes the gun stay flat on the table, and that I'm very sure it doesn't wobble.

It's okay, I agree people have their own preference..
