If I were you, I'd consider other methods of increasing the security of grip... Maybe someone who's done some HR PSD can offer some more insightful tips? .... |

Have any of you experts ever tried to handle a polymer mag when both it and your gloves are covered in mud, filth and slime? You know, battlefield conditions?
Didn't think so. It's a great idea, and the material you're looking for is available at Princess Auto. Last edited by MadMorbius; February 28th, 2009 at 00:00.. |

I've got no issues with putting grippy stuff on mags, I just got a big bag of Magpuls today (back in stock at Dave Surplus), but at $3.5 a mag for moulded rubber vs.$18.99 per some rubber sticky pads I think the guys selling the pads are maybe a bit off the scale. I just read the whole instructions, they aren't even molded, you've got to heat gun them and shape them on!

That product in itself may be overpriced and stupid, but the idea isn't. Princess Auto sells grip tape. That's all that stuff is.

Waiting for the next thread 'grip tape put to high on mag, mag won't fit, what to do?'

I'm pretty sure anyone with atleast a kindergarten education could figure out "Peel the grip tape off"

@OP, not sure what the product is that Morb suggested from Princess, nor how much it costs, but for comparison you could check a gun shop for Pachmayr Pac-Skin which is available in a big 6"x18" ish sheet (roughly, from memory: YMMV) for about $12-15 as I recall.

Thanks.
Couldn't find the product at princess auto, did find the pacymyr stuff. I can see why the pac stuff is used on stocks, it is really nice, but I don't know if it'll work for stripping out a mag when wet. Will be cutting it up during the week and seeing how it works. |

Necro, but I'm the OP so I'm feeling completely justified, especially with the original wiseass content of this thread.
So, I was looking for the Rainier Arms EMG's They have been knocked off now, but still are costing $6.50-$8 per set. The airsoft websites originally advertised 3m Safety-walk 310 series. They're now talking about a 'mineral embedded' tape also, which would be a 610 series. Here's the 310 series tape Here's the 610 series tape Does anyone have a link to get the 310 series in Canada for a good price? Realistically I don't need four rolls of the stuff. Thanks |

Nope, no precut sheet actually is the correct size. However, scrapbookers have the ability to get cutters made of all sorts of weird shapes; my friend is going to get me one made. However, Damn, this is a pain in the ass re-creating something. |
