Not too heavy for me, but I am used to carrying around loads of gear as well as M60's and huge sniper rifles. I'd say the gun is lighter than my old ICS M4A1 (M203, PEQ, crane stock, ACOG, RIS) and is only slightly heavier than my current ICS M4A1 (more basic loadout) and definitely lighter than my STAR M60E4.

As an unadorned basic rifle.. with iron sights.. it tips the scales at the top end.. .. trip it out.. with a Grenade launcher... and RIS .. and ACOG and you got a beast.. that will drag your ass down in no time

i love my star, but i would reccommend the ics already due to mag compatibility. i have had no luck finding mags that will work on full auto except the stock mag and a g&g hicap.

Thats a sweet looking gun, wouldn't say no to one.
Are you thinking about swapping the irons for a SUSAT ?

Since susat is almost out of stock anywhere so I just order an ACOG 4X32 on the way. I will post picture when I get it.

Good idea, the STAR SUSAT is usless. The eye relief on the SUSAT is worse than the export sight for the G36. It's like 0.25" or less.

SUSAT seems to be going out of use... mostly you see ACOG fitted now .. at least in A-Stan ... as reported by a fellow there recently

hmm ! Today, I just my ACOG 4x 32 so plan to mount on her tonight and ready for tomorrow game. Damn it, I found out that the rail is not compatible with 20 mm rail mount on my ACOG. damn it. It's really annoying me to find an M4 rail and put it on.

That ICS L85 is one sexy beast !

You got me worried, I just received the King Arms RDS ACOG that I ordered yesterday (thank you airsoftparts.ca !), I wonder if it will fit the rail on my Army L85A1

Will find out in a few hours...

Update:

Went straight in, no issues whatsoever !

I used to have a STAR L85A2, but eventually got rid of it because it wasn't so lefty friendly. However, if the weight is the same, I found it's VERY easy to keep it in the shoulder for extended period due to the distribution. It just pivots in the shoulder nicely.

Wow that is a sexy bitch. I wish I had come across one of them before I got my G&G L85A1.

As long as you have a screw type base for the ACOG and not a QD one it screws right onto the 19mm rail. Also you can buy a 21mm rail from STAR that fits the ICS and allows any normal railed sights to fit.

The AFV version, the super short one posted above, is really neat. So far its only made by STAR but I have owned one and the thing is just damn tiny. Only issue I had was it maxes out with a custom 9.6V mini pack. Go LiPo or go home with that baby, I needed an external battery for winter games since my minis wouldn't work.

I had to sand down the rail on mine to fit the star SUSAT!
