I think the OP was a little confused as to why an airsoft site sells BB guns that are capable of easily hurting people.
It's BuyAirsoft's fault, so give the OP a little credit. |

At least he had the common sense to even ask the question. Heaven help us if he didn't have that.
CO2 is fine, but it HAS TO BE ONLY FOR 6mm BBs! I have a CO2 Glock that I use all the time; cold weather doesn't bother it either so I can use it year-round. Be safe get AV'd, and buy stuff from the sellers here or go to a game/ join a club and talk to some guys there. Talking to real guys at a game is by far the best way to get your questions answered. Just be teachable and don't have an attitude. |

If anyone is wondering a pellet gun that shoots a 5.1gr Copper BB at 480fps has about 3.53 Joules of energy.... about the same as an airsoft gun shooting a .20g airsoft BB at about 616fps....

And thank you Buzzrexx and Drache for giving me "actual" answers and not troll answers. Also Buzzrexx may I ask where you purchased you Co2 pistol from? Last edited by sushicake; December 1st, 2008 at 13:41.. |

Drache your numbers are off. I got 54.58 joules for the pellet gun.. And 3.53 joules for the airsoft. I think you may have added an extra zero in front of the mass of the copper pellet.

You shouldn't even need clarification on that. When you bought it I bet stamped all over the box was warning do not shoot at people or animals, can cause serious bodily harm including death. However, I think you can find some useful advice on this site here: http://www.airgunzforumz.ca

Who sold it to you? Please let us know as this is a serious issue if someone is telling people that they can use BB guns firing copper BBs at airsoft games. That is not acceptable at all.

just curious, but where did you plan on playing with this airgun? oh yeah and thewarstore in buffalo ny sells yu-gi-oh and pokemon cards, doesn't mean I'd buy them to use in an airsoft game tho Last edited by pusangani; December 1st, 2008 at 14:13.. Reason: lol |

Bottom line is that if it shoots anything other than 6 or 8mm plastic BBs, it's dangerous and not acceptable for airsoft.

Drache's numbers are about right. Edit: Actually I think I just figured it out, you used the weight of Copper BBs in Grains (gr) as Grams (g); 1 gram == 15.432 grains

Well then. I completely did my calculations wrong :P. Maybe that's why I'm failing Calculus...
EDIT: I see what I did. When he said 5.1gr, I thought for some reason 5.1 grams, not 5.1 grains. So its only 0.33 grams. My bad. And now I see that a 5.1 gram BB seems ridiculous. Must be some damn dense metal to get it that high. Silly me.
