Right in the FAQ's, please read. Choose a sensible weapon model for you, do research on it, watch/read reviews. If you don't like that brand, move onto your next choice. Quote:
I don't recall JG ever making pistols, unless they recently annouced it, which I doubt. From what I've heard, China-Made pistols are beginning to up their quailty, many of the China Hi-Capa's and 1911's are said to be good (even in a non-metal model). Trashy?

i have looked at the FAQ and i did narrow down my search, i'm just seeing if i can get some info from peeps that are into this hobby already. if i lived in the states, i wouldn't mine just buying anything and trying them out, but since i'm in canada, i'm gonna be paying alot more then what there worth unless i go thru the obvious classifieds, but i kinda wanted to go thru a retailer once i'm verified so that i can get a one brand new. once i get into this and started owning and feeling the way these guns work, i'll probably start buying used, but for my first few, i wanna get new, so that i know it hasn't been beat up |

Get verified at a game or scenario. Before or after you get verified you could talk to the other players there. They might let you handle some of their replica's which will give you the feel for some of the guns. This will also give you the chance to ask 1-to-1 questions about each weapon that you handle or are interested in.
You don't need to buy a gun and all your gear right off the bat after you get verified. Once you're verified you might be lucky enough for someone to offer you a loaner gun to get your feet wet. Then once you've gathered some info and had a little experience with some models, make a purchase. From what I've heard, a vast majority of the replica's sold on the forum are in very good condition. Both externally and internally. Also, you should be able to trust the seller, incase you still need clarification, look at their trader rating.

you have no need to get AV'd... You have access to barrels of cheap guns that we only wish we had access to. Airsoft is 100% legal in most states in USA.
