I would like to see one of the companies come out with a propane adaptor with a screw on protective cap that covers the tip, one that could be dropped and survive.

That would be good too. It's not like people drop then things on purpose. Shit happens. I had 1 fall and break WHILE the protective cap was on and the tip broke off flat at the base of the adapter. The second snapped as I was filling a mag. Like WTF? I wasn't using any excessive force, and it split all the way down the shaft. #3 seems to be working, but with the poor performance of the last 2, I'm not counting on it being any better.

I would also like other companies to take the time and effort to do research on how green gas is propane, instead of just piggy backing off Carl's hard work and effort.

Good thing I have a 2nd or 3rd gen metal one! I've had it for about a year and a half.

My madbull is sweet. Just be careful when you fill. Don't just jam it in the valve, and you won't mar it.

I have an old V3 AI adaptor, but it does not work well with my M700 mags. I'd like to buy the new plastic one, that work very well, but I don't have paypall or EMT.
If anyone is selling one, I can only DD. Madmax, if you read this...

In the end people "buy" the product, not the inventor/manufacturer or concept. If AI adapters were more durable, people like me would be more inclined to buy and vice versa. A guy named James Russel invented the CD but you don't see people buying CDs off him...

The point is that he's one of our own. You're telling me that if your cousin put hours and hours of time and research in to developing something revolutionary, but a competitor came out with something similar for a couple of bucks less, you'd buy from the competitor rather than your own family? |

I thought a metal adapter would definitly be better untill i spoke in person to safx and he brought up a VERY good point. The metal adaptor wont wear down, but your mag fill valve will....the plastic one will wear gradually than break.
25$ adapter vs ?$$$ gbb fill valve + installation |

and if my family made something great then after a while decided to lower it's quality they would get the same. I will not buy and rebuy and rebuy from my own brother something I can buy once from someone else.

As for the argument about wearing out the fill valve, I personally have at least 2 spare valves for each individual mag. I think it would be more of an inconvienence not being able to use any of your gas guns because your propane adapter broke rather than just one gun because of a busted mag... Just my 2 cents worth... FYI, I do use an AI adapter. Just not one of their current plastic ones... Last edited by digital_blue; August 28th, 2008 at 00:04.. |

Fill valves are about $3 or less.
Installation takes a screwdriver and all of 20 seconds. |

However, the second split and blew out from the tip of of the valve right to the top of the adapter about 2 weeks after I got it. I had filled maybe a dozen mags with it at that point. That was a product failiure, not wear and tear, and not accident. It was not "old" or abused in any way. So I decided I'd get a metal Madbull from Jugglez *** instead to see if it would be more durable. I used it for a few months without issue. It sprays a bit with my TM and WA mags, but I usually use duster in my WA, and I don't use my TM pistol often. That spray is just a minor annoyance. It works like a charm in all my workhorse guns. On top of that, it even fell once too (from higher than the AI one), slightly bending the stem. It was quite easy to straighten it back out and it still works. like new. A few weeks after that fall, I read about fill valve wear with metal adapters, and decided I'd give AI a fair chance for a 3rd time to see if it would work out. So far it's seen a fair amount of use and it seems to be working fine. If this one lasts, then great. I'll continue using it and save my vavles. If it fails, I'll switch back to the Madbull. So no, I don't feel bad in the slightest choosing the Madbull over the AI if it turns out to be a better, more durable product. Yes, Madmax invented it and did all the legwork and research. It sucks that some Asian company stole his idea. I can understand the frustration that comes from that. But if the Madbull product turns out to be better in the end, I'd rather buy it once than have to buy the homegrown original from family several times over. *** Just playing devil's advocate here, but what's the difference between us buying a competitor's product over our family, and another one of our family selling the competitor's product?
