Last time I made my big post regarding the use of fail and all of that exceedingly annoying internet speak things were ok for a month or two. Then things went right back to where they were.

I agree that the way some people are treated here is pretty horrible. I'm not perfect, but I know that one my local clubs forum, I treat everyone on there with respect, not just because the most of them are very nice people, but because you know that you will be playing with them on Saturdays. :P

It would help though if Mods/Admins would actually reply to some of the PM's sent to them rather than people just wondering if they are being ignored. I know they must get allot in a day but it certainly helps what someone was saying before about being verified.

I must admit, this is the most hostile forum I've even been on. That may be why my post count is so low(look to left, see join date, see post count, compare with others with similar join date). Its also the reason why my wife is not on here posting even though she is verified with an account. (let it be noted that she says that anyone shes ever met at games seem really nice and not at all like the douchebags who seem to post on the forum) I'm not sure though that the Mods can do much about it though. Its like increasing the police cause everyone on the streets are killing each other. The mods provide and maintain the environment for us, but its the members who are crapping in it. Is there a solution? I doubt it, this seems to happen to any forum when it gets large enough.

I was the same way, up until the last few months of last year, I hadn't posted more than maybe a handful of messages on this forum due to the attitude. My account went almost 2 years almost unused!

I guess another big point to make about posting is to remember that not everyone here knows you personally and unfortunatly you can't type sarcatically. Though it may be ment as fun and sarcastic, may not come across that way.

Got kids? More to the point, spoiled, bratty kids that think they deserve everything on a silver platter? Imagine having to deal with that. Then you might see what being a mod/admin is like. And remember, this is a national forum, it covers all of Canada. I'm certain they get tons of PMs every day from people demanding an immediate response. I used to admin a very large forum, I know what it's like. I no longer do that, because frankly it sucks ass. As mentioned these people have lives which include work, holidays, doctor's appointments, school, significant others, etc. Give 'em a break.

I have been a mod on a world wide forum and I know what it can be like BUT I too had time to try and answer the deserving PM's that dealt with matters. Even a simply automated copy/paste message is better than nothing just to let people know you received their message and will deal with it in a timely matter. That alone can make a huge difference.

What gets me though is everyone (only the verified people it seems) telling the "noobs" to just get age verified as if that would solve all their problems about wanting to start in the sport, yet Ive heard from people who have said its taken MONTHS for their verifications to be accepted. Something needs to be done about this.

A detail....

Cranberry's thread made it seem like if he tried to get verified by "sending his license" to a local representative or an admin instead of meeting in person.

Thats because you are interpreting it incorrectly, he was properly verified. Recall it was not just the issue specifically that this thread is about, but the inexcusable behavior in of members posting in response to his post.

Excuses are being made instead of ownership to one's behavior.

My Egyptian friend said it is like this in Egypt when you go to get paperwork done at the government office: If you slip in extra money to the person filing your paperwork it gets done faster. Not joking.

If I needed to get verified anytime soon then I'd slip in extra money to the verifier to make their time worth while and speed up the submission process. I understand the verifier is volunteer and could be doing something better with their time. Sometimes a person comes on board with a "WTH WHERE IS MY VERIFICATION? I WANT IT NOW!!" attitude which for sure will attract flaming.

Sometime I see new poster post something vague or something that is about importing or illegal and I wonder if it is some banned member just trying to get others to make a flame for amusement. What to do? Sometimes I am in a good mood sometimes bored just like any other human.

For the most part this forum has a bunch of good people and lots of great info. I don't see any worse people here than I do at work.

Put it this way, and it is in the rules.

If you have a problem with a persons post use the report a post function.
Otherwise if you have nothing positive to say then shut the fuck up and do not post. That is all the forum etiquette required.
