well after 40 grueling minuets of hand paining mallet pounding, it's done... though after fully reassembling I noticed it seems to be still at least 0.3 degrees off, luckily not much and there is no way I am going to go through that again anytime soon.

Mines are edgy... but nothing to do with a razor.

well crunchmeister's are really sharp mine not as bad but still sharp enough to cause tinny paper cuts (i ran my mag's sides up and down the rails to give the mag an aged look, and dullen the rails a little)

I got a nice slice on one finger from handling my 416 last night, actually. I think JG had my rail system built by Ginsu Knives or something. Who needs a bayonet or machete with a rail system this sharp.... with a good enough swing, you could probaby chop small trees with it.

I was about to get the HK 416 but when I held it for the first time, it felt like it bit me. The rails are really sharp. Got the S-SYSTEM instead. But soon I will buy a KH416 (the one that comes with an ANPEQ).

the crane stock ones are awesome though, the stock itself is way more comfertabel than a normal M4 stock. Also, I dulled my rails best with a little bit of sandpaper, moving itup and down the rails, dulls them nicely and adds allitle bit of an aged look without removing too much paint( mainly just the paint on the actual sharp edge)

I don't know why people buy the HK417 crane stock from Hurricane when the JG does a great job...

That's what rail covers are for dude. Besides, with a file, dremel or sandpaper, the rails are easy to dull down.

I could, but I wont.
It was not entirely useless, I didn not enjoy how the JG stock had two tabs you had to push down on to remove the back cover. The hurricanes was much easier to remove and honestly the feel and quality are jutified by the price. However the idea of 100 dollar stock and 150 dollar gun still makes my day. Kinda sorta like how I find the enjoyment of installing a 300 dollar laser pistol grip on a 200 dollar handgun.

true, but i havent seen any rail covers that are long enough to cover the RIS of an HK416. of the guns i have handled in the past the RIS on the HK416 is really sharp, i never found any use of rail covers before.
